This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Collaborate with injured workers, employers, and healthcare providers to develop effective case management strategies.
• Support medical recovery and facilitate a successful return to work through advocacy, effective communication, and coordination of medical services.
• Utilize medical/clinical or rehabilitation expertise to manage complex medical conditions, devise treatment plans, and oversee recovery.
• Conduct initial and ongoing clinical assessments via telephone.
• Assess injuries, medical treatments, psychosocial factors, cultural considerations, and existing support systems.
• Foster communication and establish relationships with claims examiners, clients, injured workers, attorneys, and supervisors.
• Recognize delayed recovery and return-to-work challenges and develop innovative solutions.
• Negotiate treatment plans and disability durations with providers, adhering to medical and disability duration guidelines.
• Identify opportunities to accelerate care for cost effectiveness and timely recovery.
• Suggest alternative clinical resources to aid in claim resolution.
• Uphold client privacy and confidentiality, promote client safety and advocacy, and comply with ethical, legal, accreditation, and regulatory standards.
• Must be a resident of the United States.
• A current unrestricted RN license(s) in a state or territory of the United States is required.
• A compact license is necessary.
• A minimum of 1.5 years of prior experience in workers' compensation is required.
• A Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited college or university or equivalent work experience is preferred.
• Certification in case management, rehabilitation nursing, or a related specialty is highly preferred.
• Possess medical/clinical or rehabilitation knowledge and experience.
• Capability to perform clinical assessments over the phone.
• Strong communication skills to build relationships with claims examiners, clients, injured workers, attorneys, and supervisors.
• Familiarity with medical and disability duration guidelines.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Proficient in keyboarding skills.
• Adequate hearing, vision, and verbal communication abilities.
