This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.

📋 Description

• Conduct telephone triage under challenging, high-pressure, and repetitive circumstances.

• Independently gather data and perform evaluations.

• Formulate working diagnoses and decide on interventions and disposition in accordance with established guidelines.

• Assist patients/callers in assessing normal versus abnormal symptoms, treatment efficacy, and the appropriate timing for follow-up calls.

• Record symptoms/complaints, nursing evaluations, advice, and responses from patients/callers.

• Adhere to policies, procedures, and protocols to enhance healthcare outcomes and ensure access to suitable care.

• Collect health data from patients and conduct initial assessments for neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and/or geriatric populations.

• Evaluate age-appropriate care advice and distinguish between normal and abnormal findings.

• Recognize patient learning needs and provide education through care advice.

• Assess for indications of abuse and make necessary referrals.

• Review medications, dosages, allergies, health history, and immunization records.

• Serve as the team leader when designated, oversee call-queue safety, and coordinate on staffing or interdisciplinary matters.

• Act as a resource for team members and offer feedback to supervisors.

• Choose suitable guidelines based on assessment data.

• Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation that reflects nursing assessments and care advice.

• Conduct quality-improvement initiatives, documentation, and audio audits.

• Recommend appropriate dispositions and modify them based on patient/caller needs and nursing judgment.

• Identify opportunities for process and operational enhancements and gather supporting data.

• Incorporate findings from quality-assurance audits into practice.

• Recognize learning needs and integrate new knowledge into practice.

• Work three 10-hour evening shifts weekly, including one weekend shift each week.


⛳️ Requirements

• Associate's Degree is required.

• A minimum of two years of recent nursing experience is required.

• BLS - Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification from AHA - American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required.

• RN - Registered Nurse license from DORA - Department of Regulatory Agencies is required.

• Provides age-appropriate triage and treatment dispositions for all callers, from newborns to adults, including OB and Worker's Compensation Injury Reporting.

• Utilizes computer software and related programs to triage and dispatch reports to the appropriate agencies or clinics.

• Employs nursing judgment alongside computer software to arrive at suitable dispositions and care advice.

• Capable of responding appropriately to emergency situations.

• Proficient in applying nursing principles, practices, and techniques.

• Demonstrates initiative and judgment in selecting proper treatments.

• Competent in using computers and computer systems.

• Computer skills are mandatory.

• Bilingual skills are preferred.
