RN Manager – Pediatric Teletriage

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kansas, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee the Pediatric Teletriage team

• Deliver consistent and visible support through a rotating schedule that includes evenings, nights, and weekends

• Ensure a robust team presence, operational excellence, and outstanding patient care

• Promote innovative models of care delivery

• Propel measurable improvements in clinical and operational performance

• Encourage accountability, collaboration, and ongoing enhancement

• Supervise daily clinical operations of the department

• Uphold nursing practice standards and adhere to the nursing code of ethics

• Develop quality initiatives in patient care that enhance safety and civility while reducing bias

• Create and revise performance improvement tools, productivity reports, fiscal status updates, and quality statistics

• Address patient complaints according to policy and in cooperation with support staff

• Formulate and execute policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations

• Manage the department's budget and resources

• Represent the OU Health nursing community while collaborating with senior leadership and healthcare professionals

• Act as a resource for physicians and staff

• Oversee team selection, retention, and performance through coaching, feedback, training, and recognition

• Enhance staff capabilities to meet organizational metrics

• Execute other duties as assigned

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is required

• Master's Degree in Nursing is preferred

• 3 to 5 years of proven leadership experience is required

• Current Registered Nurse License from the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact Registered Nurse (eNLC) with established residency within 6 months

• Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association is required upon hire

• Nursing specialty or leadership certification(s) are preferred

• Familiarity with the structure of academic medical centers, service-line structures, institutional governance, and the hierarchy of decision-making processes

• Proficient in planning, coordinating, and measuring departmental activities

• Experience with performance improvement tools, utilizing metrics for decision-making, budget management, report writing, and practical problem-solving

• Ability to leverage resources, including technology, to manage multiple competing priorities and achieve organizational objectives

• Knowledge of industry standards to inform strategic decisions, solve problems, and assess risk

• Capable of creative and strategic thinking to mediate with individuals and groups

• Awareness of unconscious and systemic bias in care delivery and business operations

• Ability to navigate obstacles to cooperation and foster collaborative relationships

• Maintain integrity and trust among leadership and staff

• Ability to lead and inspire individuals, groups, and cross-functional teams while providing project management support

• Strong written and verbal communication skills characterized by honesty, openness, integrity, and diplomacy
