This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Investigate intricate, high-risk, and ambiguous user business scenarios, utilizing extensive risk expertise to make informed, nuanced decisions.
• Confidently navigate uncertainty and create tailored, evidence-based solutions when standard frameworks are insufficient.
• Recognize and escalate systemic patterns across cases, suggesting scalable solutions to cross-functional stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Risk Operations, User Support, Risk Partnerships, Legal, Compliance, and Product teams to formulate comprehensive risk mitigation strategies.
• Engage directly with users in constructive and sensitive discussions while balancing the needs of regulatory and financial partners.
• Clearly communicate intricate risk findings to internal teams, financial partners, and Stripe leadership.
• Contribute to the design and ongoing enhancement of SSO processes, decision frameworks, and tools.
• Create and maintain documentation, procedures, and playbooks to facilitate team scalability and knowledge management.
• Identify shortcomings in systems, policies, and strategies, and propose improvements in collaboration with stakeholders.
• Over 5 years of experience in risk management, compliance, fraud, financial operations, or a related field in a dynamic environment.
• Proven ability to navigate ambiguous and non-binary decision-making within complex risk landscapes.
• Exceptional critical thinking and analytical skills, capable of synthesizing diverse data sources into a coherent risk narrative.
• Experience in cross-functional collaboration on complex issues and facilitating alignment among teams with differing priorities.
• Ability to engage directly with users—including in challenging or sensitive discussions—with empathy, clarity, and professionalism.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to convey intricate risk findings to a variety of audiences.
• Comfortable with ambiguity and the fast-paced, continually evolving nature of the work environment.
• Proven history of identifying systemic issues from individual case trends and driving process enhancements.
• Deep empathy for entrepreneurs and businesses, alongside a genuine drive to resolve issues that empower them.
• Willingness and capability to question the status quo as a creative thinker who approaches problems from a user perspective while remaining pragmatic and solutions-oriented.
• Familiarity with compliance or financial partnership relationship management.
• Experience in risk assessment and mitigation strategies within a fintech or payments context.
• Working knowledge of data analysis and AI tools to quantify risk and guide decision-making.
• Background in regulatory compliance within the financial services sector.
• Experience in developing scalable operational frameworks or playbooks in ambiguous, high-stakes environments.
