This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Act as the primary contact for billing setup for Partners and legal assistants.
• Enter and manage client billing information and specific instructions in the accounting database, including matter budgets and timekeeper rates.
• Assess and confirm the accuracy of billing setups to ensure timely and precise invoicing tailored to each Client’s requirements.
• Make sure that the initial matter billing setup complies with Billing and Outside Counsel Guidelines.
• Review and validate billing documentation as necessary.
• Verify rates and fee arrangements for each individual matter.
• Collaborate with Attorneys, the Billing team, Client Service Specialists, and other staff to facilitate the flow of billing information within the New Business Intake process.
• Foster standardization and innovation to support future growth.
• Ensure adherence to Firm policies and practices while promoting consistency and education on both professional and technical matters.
• Assist with special projects, ad hoc reports, and other activities as required.
• Execute additional responsibilities as assigned.
• 1–3 years of experience related to the outlined responsibilities and duties.
• Professional demeanor is essential.
• Outstanding organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Previous experience in a law firm is highly preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field; an A.A. or equivalent from a two-year college or technical institution; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least 2 years of experience in general accounting practices.
• Minimum of 1 year’s experience with legal and/or electronic billing processes and practices.
• Prior experience with Aderant or Elite billing systems is advantageous.
• Familiarity with Intapp OPEN Intake or Fulcrum GT’s UPFRONT is preferred.
• Strong Excel skills with the ability to analyze financial data.
• Analytical, intellectually curious, and driven to find answers and solutions.
• Required familiarity and comfort with legal documents and contracts.
• Capability to multitask independently and collaboratively in a deadline-driven, detail-oriented, and fast-paced environment.
