Risk & Governance Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Develop and implement a comprehensive Enterprise Risk Management framework, which encompasses a risk register, risk appetite statement, and a reporting schedule for senior leadership and the board.

• Establish and manage a Third-Party Risk Management program focused on critical vendors, including vendor classification, due diligence processes, and continuous monitoring against set risk thresholds.

• Oversee and maintain the organization’s entire policy framework, which includes the creation, review, approval, version control, and dissemination of compliance and risk policies.

• Direct regulatory examination efforts and ensure institutional audit preparedness, including management of documentation, preparation for mock exams, and coordination of responses.

• Provide governance assistance to senior leadership and the board, which includes risk reporting, escalation procedures, and preparation of committee materials.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in risk management, compliance, or governance within the financial services or fintech sectors.

• Proven experience in developing or managing an Enterprise Risk Management framework, which includes risk registers and risk appetite statements.

• Proficient in designing and implementing Third-Party Risk Management programs, including vendor due diligence and ongoing risk monitoring.

• A solid track record of owning and maintaining enterprise-wide policy libraries in a regulated setting.

• Strong understanding of regulatory examination procedures and audit readiness standards.

• Outstanding written communication and documentation skills, capable of producing materials suitable for board review.

• Experience in digital assets, blockchain technology, or crypto-native financial services.

• Familiarity with governance frameworks such as COSO ERM, ISO 31000, or SOC 2.

• Background in supporting institutional investors or regulated fund structures.
