Risk Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with Underwriting to conduct due diligence for potential Hudson SDI customers.

• Offer feedback and recommendations for risk improvements to Contractor partners.

• Co-develop service plans customized to meet individual customer needs while aiming to lower overall risk costs.

• Support the entire SDI program lifecycle by providing consultation, training, control assessments, risk identification, customer feedback, project visits, program referral support, and customer meetings.

• Consult with clients and Hudson Claims management on the administration, mitigation strategies, and lessons learned from subcontractor default claims.

• Engage potential clients through industry presentations, meetings, and related events in collaboration with Underwriting.

• Enhance protocols and tools that minimize the overall cost associated with subcontractor default risk.

• Establish credibility and customer satisfaction by showcasing the benefits of risk control services.

⛳️ Requirements

• 7-10 years or more of direct construction experience, which may include roles in Contractor, Owner, or other related construction sectors.

• Robust and relevant working knowledge of the entire construction project lifecycle, encompassing preconstruction, estimating, purchasing, project management, and project closeout.

• Preferred direct experience in subcontractor prequalification, selection, contracting, project/subcontractor management, scheduling, quality management, construction claims, and default management.

• Capability to apply construction experience across a diverse range of customers.

• Proficient in consulting effectively on a wide array of construction management practices.

• Skillful in identifying exposures and evaluating controls on complex construction accounts.

• Flexibility in implementing procedures pertinent to contractor exposures, practices, and overall culture.

• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.

• Competence in listening effectively and making informed assessments based on written procedures, discussions, and observations.

• Ability to convey technical information and recommendations in a manner that is accessible to diverse audiences.

• Talent for communicating persuasively to encourage others to accept and act upon recommendations.

• Self-motivated individual focused on personal and professional growth.

• Capacity to manage schedules and resources, evaluate workload in relation to business priorities, and direct personal efforts while working remotely.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with both internal and external partners.

• No restrictions on travel, whether domestic or international.

• A valid driver’s license is required.
