Risk and Insurance Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Assist in executing the strategic plan for risk assumption, risk transfer, and loss prevention initiatives.

• Engage in gathering underwriting information for captive, reinsurance, physician, commercial insurance policy renewals, and bonds.

• Preserve historical underwriting records.

• Aid in risk assessment and the onboarding process for physicians into the captive.

• Maintain databases for insured entities, properties, vehicles, drivers, and physicians within the risk management information system.

• Oversee insurance schedules, policies, premiums, and policy summaries.

• Support physician credentialing and manage loss history requests.

• Evaluate risk and implement loss prevention measures, including educational initiatives.

• Assist in compliance with patient compensation funds and specialized state funds.

• Process and monitor invoices, premium payments, and premium returns.

• Handle certificate requests in collaboration with facilities, practice managers, real estate, finance, human resources, and other internal departments.

• Participate in special projects and keep Administrative, Clinical, Market, and System Risk leaders informed of significant occurrences and risk management activities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Risk Management, Healthcare, Business, or a related field (Required).

• CPHRM certification within 4 years of hire (Required).

• Minimum of 3 years in healthcare provision or administration, insurance, loss prevention, or a related field, or a combination of post-secondary education and experience in lieu of a degree (Required).

• Preferably 5+ years in healthcare provision or administration, insurance, loss prevention, or a related field (Preferred).

• Competency in Microsoft Office.

• Strong planning abilities.

• Capable of electronic file management.

• Skilled in risk analysis.
