Rigging TD – Independent Contractor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Develop and implement animation control rigging systems for intricate characters and props utilizing Maya.

• Collaborate with the Lead Rigger to ensure all rigs satisfy the specifications of the show.

• Supervise rigging for characters, vehicles, and props throughout the animation pipeline.

• Create tools and plug-ins to enhance the efficiency of animation and rigging workflows.

• Execute facial target modeling and undertake other organic/non-organic modeling tasks as necessary.

• Ensure that CG characters adhere to established character setup protocols.

• Diagnose and resolve rigging issues for artists across various disciplines.

• Maintain a consistent, high-quality output in alignment with deadlines.

• Contribute to the wider team and departmental objectives as required.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in character rigging and animation methodologies/technologies.

• Strong grasp of human anatomy, structure, dynamics, and character movement.

• Proficiency in Maya and/or 3ds Max.

• Experience in the gaming industry as a character animator/rigger.

• Familiarity with game engine rigging and animation systems, such as Unity, Unreal, or similar platforms.

• Comprehensive knowledge of 3D software, including scripting, modeling, animation, and rendering.

• Experience in constructing custom support structures for characters.

• Ability to work proficiently across multiple game engines, preferably Unity and Unreal.

• Strong skills in time and project management.

• Proficient in English communication.

• Must reside in British Columbia, Canada.
