Revenue Cycle Specialist II – Commercial Collections

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Provide support for commercial collections within Patient Financial Services.

• Review and resubmit claims to third-party payors.

• Conduct follow-up activities on accounts.

• Update account details as necessary.

• Participate in departmental meetings and offer management feedback on process enhancements.

• Comply with documentation standards and appropriately utilize activity codes.

• Accurately input data while maintaining acceptable levels of speed and accuracy.

• Oversee assigned work queues and manage workload effectively.

• Resolve accounts promptly and accurately.

• Escalate issues and concerns to the supervisor.

• Process incoming correspondence based on the designated reason code.

• Ensure that account information is thorough and precise.

• Adhere to payment timeline protocols.

• Assist colleagues in resolving accounts.

• Utilize Cedars-Sinai core patient accounting systems along with department-specific systems efficiently.

• May receive cross-training in additional revenue cycle roles and provide backup coverage.


⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or GED is mandatory.

• A minimum of four years of experience in hospital or professional billing and/or collections is required.

• Experience in hospital account follow-up with commercial payer knowledge.

• Basic computer and navigation skills are essential.

• Familiarity with MS Office, Web/Vs, Emdeon, and CS-Link is preferred.

• A working knowledge of regulatory and CSHS policies and procedures is preferred.

• Basic understanding of HIPAA and other privacy regulations is preferred.

• Ability to perform relevant business mathematics, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Proficiency in keyboarding and data entry.

• Capability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with competing demands for time and attention.

• Ability to prioritize and organize work to ensure timely and accurate completion of assignments.

• Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor.
