This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Conduct scheduled diabetic eye examinations and retinal screenings for members at provider facilities.
• Travel to provider locations and patient residences for arranged eye exam appointments.
• Operate company-issued retinal imaging equipment.
• Assist in addressing eye exam and related quality gaps.
• Complete company-sponsored training on retinal imaging technology and eye examination protocols prior to performing exams independently.
• Maintain proficiency through continuous training as necessary.
• Oversee a daily schedule of eye exam appointments.
• Confirm appointments with practices and patients ahead of time.
• Arrange travel logistics.
• Develop and sustain professional relationships with co-workers, customers, providers, payers, and care teams.
• Undertake additional responsibilities that support quality enhancement, reporting, patient engagement, and customer satisfaction.
• Participate virtually with team members and stakeholders on days without appointments.
• Willingness and capability to travel daily, up to 100%, to provider locations.
• No prior experience in eye exams or imaging is necessary; comprehensive training and equipment will be provided.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license and dependable transportation.
• An associate degree or higher in a relevant field.
• A minimum of 1–3 years of experience in a healthcare environment.
• Familiarity with medical terminology, quality metrics, medical billing, or coding.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Teams, and various healthcare-related systems or applications.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Strong attention to detail along with organizational skills.
• Capability to meet strict deadlines.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with management, colleagues, customers, providers, payers, and care teams.
• Capacity to work independently in a remote setting.
• Required internet speed of at least 100 Mbps for downloads and 10 Mbps for uploads.
• Certification or licensure as a healthcare professional, such as CMA or LPN, is preferred.
• Travel time is compensated.
• Mileage and travel expenses for eye exam visits are reimbursed by the company.
