This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Conduct scheduled diabetic eye examinations and retinal screenings for members at both provider practices and patient residences.
• Utilize company-provided retinal imaging devices.
• Assist in addressing gaps in eye exam completion and related quality metrics.
• Travel to provider practices on prearranged appointment days.
• Engage with team members, internal partners, clients, providers, payers, and care teams virtually on non-appointment days.
• Undergo training on retinal imaging technology and eye examination processes before performing exams autonomously.
• Maintain proficiency through continuous training.
• Oversee daily scheduling of eye exam appointments.
• Confirm upcoming appointments with practices and patients ahead of time.
• Organize travel arrangements.
• Establish and uphold professional relationships with colleagues, clients, providers, payers, and care teams.
• Contribute to quality enhancement, reporting, patient outreach, and customer success initiatives.
• Adhere to security policies and protocols to safeguard PHI, PII, and company intellectual property.
• Willingness and capability to travel daily, up to 100%, to provider practices.
• Must be a local resident in the Houston, TX area.
• No previous experience in eye examinations or imaging is required; comprehensive training and equipment will be provided.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and dependable transportation.
• An associate degree or higher in a related field is required.
• At least 1–3 years of experience in a healthcare environment is necessary.
• Familiarity with medical terminology, quality metrics, medical billing, or coding is preferred.
• Competence in using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Teams, and various healthcare-related systems or applications.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational capabilities.
• Capacity to meet strict deadlines.
• Ability to collaborate efficiently with management, colleagues, clients, providers, payers, and care teams.
• Capability to work independently in a remote setting.
• Completion of company-provided training is required before performing exams independently.
• Must provide an internet connection with a minimum of 100 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload speed.
• Certification or licensure as a healthcare professional, such as CMA or LPN, is preferred.
• Compensation for travel time.
