Retail Fulfillment Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Oversee retail purchase orders from initial receipt to shipment and shipment confirmation, ensuring full and timely fulfillment.

• Identify and address inventory shortages, carton or case-pack discrepancies, labeling problems, and other fulfillment risks.

• Manage daily interactions with the retail 3PL, including performance evaluations, scorecards, SLA accountability, escalations, and corrective action strategies.

• Monitor the requirements of retailers and distributors, ensuring compliance with routing guides, dock appointments, onboarding processes, deductions, and chargebacks.

• Investigate retailer deductions, contest incorrect charges, maintain chargeback records, and submit claims with the 3PL.

• Coordinate outbound dock appointments with carriers, brokers, retailers, and the 3PL.

• Lead the operational setup and onboarding of new retail accounts, including item data, GTIN and case configurations, portals, samples, and checklists.

• Manage fulfillment documentation, including item specifications, pallet configurations, UCC-128 labeling, ASN compliance, and regulatory workflows.

• Audit 3PL and freight invoices against contracted rates and additional charges, resolving discrepancies with Finance and Logistics.

• Monitor SKU inventory, maintain safety stock, support cycle counts, reconcile WMS and system-of-record discrepancies, and handle aging inventory disposition.

• Build and maintain PO tracking, KPI dashboards, scorecards, and reporting for Operations and Retail leadership.

• Implement process enhancements to lower cost per order, improve fulfillment cycle times, and scale operations.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5–7 years of experience in retail fulfillment, supply chain, or 3PL/warehouse operations management, preferably in CPG.

• Proven experience in directly managing a 3PL relationship, including SLA enforcement, performance scorecards, escalations, and corrective action strategies.

• Hands-on knowledge of major retailer compliance and routing-guide requirements, such as those from Walmart, Target, or Costco.

• Familiarity with EDI and ASN processes.

• Experience auditing freight and 3PL invoices and resolving billing discrepancies.

• Strong understanding of inventory management principles, including safety stock, reorder points, cycle counting, and inventory turnover.

• Advanced skills in Excel or Google Sheets, along with experience in WMS, ERP, or inventory management systems.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a talent for identifying root causes and transforming data into actionable steps.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence in holding external partners accountable.

• Highly organized and adept at managing multiple orders, partners, deadlines, and retailer requirements simultaneously.

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can shift rapidly.

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Logistics, or a related field (preferred).

• APICS/CPIM, CSCP, or Lean Six Sigma certification (preferred).

• Experience in scaling retail fulfillment operations within a high-growth CPG or DTC-to-retail brand (preferred).

• Familiarity with GS1 labeling standards and UCC-128 case labels (preferred).

• Experience managing retailer chargeback resolution processes (preferred).

• Experience with SOS Inventory, NetSuite, or similar inventory/ERP systems (preferred).
