This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +6 more states.
• Evaluate, validate, and appraise residential properties ranging from simple to complex.
• Ensure adherence to bank policies, procedures, code of conduct, and regulatory standards.
• Assist in the procurement and ordering of appraisals.
• Review appraisal and evaluation reports for compliance with bank policies.
• Conduct validations and in-house evaluations as required.
• Support regulatory examinations and internal audits.
• Aid in updating bank appraisal policies and bulletins.
• Provide assistance to bank employees and appraisers regarding appraisal-related queries and issues.
• Train bank personnel and appraisal team members on appraisal materials and systems.
• Oversee the appraisal pipeline and resolve any related requests and review issues.
• Supervise appraisal requests and evaluate the skill levels and fee quotes of fee appraisers and reviewers.
• Assist in the implementation of appraisal department technology and software.
• Foster positive interactions with employees.
• Engage in marketing initiatives.
• Maintain professional competencies through training and cross-training.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned by management.
• A High School Diploma or GED equivalent is mandatory.
• A Bachelor's degree is preferred, or equivalent relevant work experience.
• At least 3 years of experience in an appraisal or appraisal review-related capacity is necessary.
• Strong knowledge and experience in residential appraisal are required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and other departmental software.
• Familiarity with USPAP, FIRREA, OCC, HVCC, and FNMA/FHLMC appraisal guidelines and regulations.
• State certification as a Residential Real Estate Appraiser is preferred but not essential.
• Completion of Appraisal Institute courses such as Basic Appraisal Principles, Basic Appraisal Procedures, and the 15-hour USPAP course, or a commitment to complete them shortly.
• Basic proficiency in the English language is required.
• Ability to prioritize and organize tasks effectively.
• Capacity to learn new software applications.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
• Must be organized, accurate, detail-oriented, cooperative, patient, and capable of multitasking under pressure.
• Ability to work seated or standing at a computer for at least four hours a day.
• Capability to use hands and fingers consistently for data entry or phone answering throughout most of an eight-hour shift.
• Ability to hear and communicate effectively with coworkers and customers throughout the day.
• Willingness to work in a professional office environment as part of a team.
• Travel may be necessary for meetings.
• Telecommuters must have a secure, distraction-free home office and a private, non-cellular internet connection.
• Secure home office environment for telecommuters or hybrid employees.
• Reliable private internet connection; cable or fiber is preferred.
