Research Veterinarian

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assess and analyze nominations for compounded drug substances intended for nonfood-producing animals, food-producing animals, and free-ranging wildlife in accordance with FDA-established guidelines.

• Conduct scientific and clinical research utilizing peer-reviewed literature, veterinary and pharmacological references, professional resources, and consultations with subject matter experts.

• Evaluate evidence and leverage clinical expertise to determine the safety, effectiveness, medical necessity, and suitability of the nominated substances.

• Formulate recommendations for the inclusion of substances on the FDA compounding lists and compile detailed reports that document findings, evidence, and justifications.

• Collaborate with FDA veterinarians and stakeholders through meetings, discussions, and the regulatory decision-making process.

• Adhere to review protocols, guidance documents, and project requirements while managing assignments autonomously.

• Gather, monitor, and analyze project data and statistics for reporting purposes and program objectives.

• Offer veterinary expertise across a range of species, including companion animals, livestock, wildlife, and exotic animals.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be a board-certified Veterinarian from an accredited institution.

• Hold an active veterinary license in good standing within the state of employment.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create technical and scientific reports.

• Strong analytical, research, and critical thinking skills.

• Proven experience working independently and managing multiple review tasks.

• Clinical knowledge and experience in treating companion animals, including dogs, cats, and horses.

• Familiarity with veterinary pharmacology is essential.

• Capability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.

• Preferred: Clinical experience with zoo, exotic, wildlife, avian, reptile, or nontraditional animal species.
