Research Team Manager – Probate, Lineage, General US

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead, mentor, and manage the performance of a team of up to 15 research professionals.

• Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, set objectives, and promote continuous skill enhancement.

• Take ownership of the team’s research quality and ensure adherence to standard operating procedures.

• Uphold professional genealogical standards.

• Oversee project distribution and assist in resolving operational bottlenecks.

• Manage a small portfolio of client research projects directly.

• Collaborate with Operations Directors on team objectives, recruitment, and business operations.

• Work together with Client Relationship Managers to address client issues.

• Engage with executive leadership on client experience and product quality matters.

• Remain actively involved in casework and stay updated on industry best practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 10 years of professional genealogy experience.

• 5 to 10 years of recent expertise in Probate, Lineage, and/or General US Research.

• 2 to 5 years of experience in direct team management.

• Demonstrated ability to develop talent, manage performance, and address operational challenges.

• Outstanding communication skills with experience in providing constructive feedback.

• Strong time management abilities to balance management responsibilities with active billable research.

• Certification or Accreditation as a Professional Genealogist is preferred.

• A Bachelor’s degree or higher is preferred.
