Research Software Engineer – Simulation Algorithm, Geometry Processing

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.

📋 Description

• Create, develop, and sustain algorithms for geometry processing and simulation tailored for engineering applications.

• Construct services for the reading, processing, and writing of 2D/3D engineering data.

• Develop rendering modules aimed at producing 2D/3D visual assets.

• Organize and oversee extensive datasets for learning-based systems.

• Implement and enhance post-training workflows for machine learning models.

• Contribute to the creation of domain-specific languages for engineering tasks.

• Utilize machine learning to address real-world engineering challenges using 2D/3D data from CAD, CAE, and CAM systems.

• Convert intricate geometry, design workflows, and simulation data into formats compatible with AI systems.

⛳️ Requirements

• MUST possess experience in Code Development; candidates lacking this experience will not be considered.

• Over 5 years of academic or industry experience in Geometric Processing, Simulation, Optimization, Machine Learning, or Domain-Specific Languages.

• Skilled in writing clean, modular, and maintainable Python code.

• Experience in dataset creation and the development of data pipelines.

• PhD or MS degree focusing on Computational Design, Simulation, or AI.

• Background in developing CAD/CAM/CAE software tools.

• Familiarity with developing or fine-tuning large language models (LLMs), including post-training techniques such as quantization, pruning, distillation, or reinforcement learning.

• Experience in designing or implementing domain-specific languages (DSLs) or compilers.
