This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Spearhead initiatives to ensure that informatics systems effectively support and further the objectives and mission of Emory University.
• Collaborate closely with faculty and staff to document, assess, and convert their needs into technical designs and informatics solutions.
• Utilize standard practices for software requirements and design to document informatics solutions that facilitate activities across the university.
• Implement biomedical informatics technical standards, methodologies, and principles in alignment with program needs, objectives, and outcomes.
• Oversee related systems projects from a client business perspective.
• Supervise the delivery of ongoing information systems to the enterprise, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction.
• Execute additional responsibilities as necessary.
• A Bachelor's degree along with five years of experience in information technology, or a comparable combination of education, training, and experience.
• Experience in a health, research, or academic institution setting.
• Familiarity with data and information systems standards pertinent to biomedical informatics and health systems.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
• Proficient SQL coding skills.
• Certification or proficiency in Epic Cogito (Clarity/Caboodle).
• A minimum of 2 years of experience with Epic electronic health record data, with a preference for a clinical data model.
• Familiarity with R, Python, or DBT.
• Experience in an academic medical center or research environment.
• Understanding of healthcare data governance and regulatory frameworks for research purposes.
• Experience with OMOP Common Data Model (CDM) and data mapping, including the process of mapping from source systems to OMOP standardized vocabularies.
• Experience with cloud analytics and data warehouse platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure/Data Fabric, Snowflake, or similar technologies.
• Familiarity with agile methodologies and version control systems (Git).
• Must work from an approved U.S. location; Emory does not authorize NJ, AK, HI, any U.S. Territories, or locations outside the United States as primary work locations.
• Fully remote work classification with only occasional visits required to an Emory University location.
• Potential for Eastern (EST) time zone business hours.
