This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Senegal.

📋 Description

• Utilize quantitative and geospatial techniques to pinpoint high-priority programs, opportunities for geographic targeting, and efficiencies within health systems.

• Assist in the development of cost-effectiveness models to facilitate evidence-based decision-making for programs.

• Leverage extensive datasets, such as GBD, DHS, national surveys, IHME datasets, and implementation cost data, to guide program design and prioritization.

• Collaborate with various disease and geographic programs to collect inputs, validate assumptions, and ensure that models accurately reflect program realities.

• Create evidence-based materials for significant funders and funding discussions.

• Aid in the design and execution of new pilot programs leveraging evidence and data.

• Rigorously evaluate program theories of change through literature reviews, assumption testing, causal pathway analysis, and counterfactual assessments.

• Partner with country teams and government stakeholders to ensure the feasibility of interventions and alignment with national health systems.


⛳️ Requirements

• A postgraduate degree in epidemiology, economics, or a related quantitative field.

• Over 3 years of experience employing quantitative methods to address global health or development issues.

• Proficiency in cost-effectiveness analysis, impact evaluations, and mathematical modeling.

• Outstanding analytical and critical thinking abilities, particularly in pressure-testing intricate theories of change.

• Excellent skills in data management and statistical analysis, utilizing Stata, R, or SAS.

• Experience in cost-effectiveness modeling and evaluation design, including causal inference using observational data.

• Proven ability to assess and resolve data quality issues within large survey and administrative datasets across multiple countries.

• Strong comprehension of health systems in low- and middle-income countries, including data limitations, operational constraints, and the ecosystem of government and partner organizations.

• Excellent communication skills with the capability to present quantitative findings to donors, government stakeholders, and varied audiences.

• Demonstrated ability to effectively utilize AI tools for information synthesis and analytical output production, with a critical approach to evaluating and enhancing AI-generated work.

• Capacity to operate independently in a fast-paced environment.

• A commitment to collaborative efforts with a remote, geographically dispersed team across multiple time zones.

• Proficient in English.

• Experience in employing geospatial methods for budget optimization, program targeting, or subnational prioritization is advantageous.

• Preferred proficiency in languages spoken in CHAI countries.
