Research Associate 2

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Dakota.

📋 Description

• Assist with seasonal routine tasks such as planning, communication, packaging, planting, note-taking, and harvesting yield trials.

• Operate and maintain agricultural machinery as well as research equipment.

• Ensure the integrity of seed packaging, field layout, planting, data collection, and harvesting.

• Adhere to company safety protocols, stewardship practices, and training requirements.

• Oversee third-party contract labor as well as Syngenta staff both on-site and off-site.

• Address and resolve minor issues or complaints.

• Conduct planting, phenotyping, pollinating, and harvesting activities.

• Maintain regular communication with peers and supervisors regarding project and work activity progress.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in an agriculture-related field or equivalent relevant experience preferred.

• Familiarity with precision agriculture equipment and software systems.

• Basic knowledge of plant genetics and breeding is desirable.

• Understanding of practices and procedures that affect the precision and accuracy of trial data.

• Knowledge and demonstrated use of contemporary agronomic practices.

• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.

• Remote Pilot License or willingness to obtain one.

• CDL Class A with Airbrakes or willingness to obtain one.

• Pesticide Applicator’s License or willingness to obtain one.

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.

• Experience in seed technology, plant breeding, precision agriculture, or related agricultural operations.

• Working knowledge of best practices in agronomic management.

• Experience with precision agriculture equipment, software systems, and data-driven farming technologies.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Smartsheet, and standard business applications.

• Ability to utilize data collection, analysis, agronomic tracking, and KPI reporting systems.
