This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Oversee the inventory of repossessed vehicles and manage relationships with auction vendors.
• Act as the main contact for vehicle evaluation, reconditioning, preparation for sale, valuation, and decision-making regarding sales.
• Enhance net recovery through effective management of auction vendors and vehicle inventory.
• Ensure the prompt, efficient, and compliant preparation and sale of repossessed inventory.
• Supervise and assess vendor performance, ensuring adherence to company policies, and provide corrective measures or suggestions as necessary.
• Manage regional inventory by tracking transport status, reviewing certification inspections, grading vehicles, estimating reconditioning needs, preparing for sales, and approving bids.
• Conduct on-site evaluations of auction processes, inventory preparation, and effectiveness of sales.
• Schedule regular meetings with vendors to discuss status with auction management and relevant staff members.
• Analyze scorecards and reports while coordinating follow-ups on performance issues.
• Negotiate arbitration claims when needed, in conjunction with senior management.
• Identify and capitalize on market arbitrage opportunities.
• Audit auction expenses and announcements for accuracy.
• Maintain and report travel-related expenses in accordance with company policies.
• Collaborate with auction management, functions within the Remarketing Department, and other internal teams.
• Proven experience in vehicle valuation, reconditioning assessment, and wholesale remarketing channels.
• Awareness of macro and regional social/economic activities, seasonality, and significant automotive trends related to used vehicle pricing.
• Capacity to work independently under time constraints and competing deadlines.
• Detail-oriented individual with excellent organizational abilities.
• Strong professional written and verbal communication skills.
• Adaptability in job functions and the ability to incorporate procedural changes effectively.
• Proficient in PC usage, with the capability to navigate multiple platforms.
• Familiarity with NAAA auction policies is highly preferred.
• Experience in frame assessment or writing condition reports is advantageous.
• A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent college experience is preferred.
• A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in automotive or remarketing sectors is required.
• Familiarity with Daybreak, AutoIMS, RDN, Manheim Market Report, and CSAToday.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
