This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Oversee the inventory of repossessed vehicles and manage relationships with auction vendors.
• Act as the main contact for vehicle evaluation, reconditioning, sale preparation, vehicle appraisal, and decision-making regarding sales.
• Enhance net recovery by effectively managing auction vendors and the vehicle inventory.
• Ensure the prompt, efficient, and compliant preparation and sale of repossessed inventory.
• Track and evaluate vendor performance, including compliance with company standards, and offer corrective measures or suggestions.
• Supervise regional inventory by tracking transport status, assessing certification inspections, grading vehicles, estimating reconditioning, preparing for sales, and approving bids.
• Conduct onsite evaluations of auction operations, inventory readiness, and sales efficiency.
• Coordinate regular status meetings with vendors and auction management, along with relevant personnel.
• Analyze scorecards and reports, and manage follow-up on any performance issues.
• Negotiate arbitration claims in consultation with senior management.
• Discover and pursue market arbitrage opportunities.
• Review auction expenses and announcements for accuracy.
• Maintain and report travel-related expenses according to company policies.
• Collaborate with auction management, the Remarketing Department, and other internal teams.
• Execute responsibilities in line with Westlake's policies, procedures, and relevant regulations.
• Proven experience in vehicle appraisal, reconditioning assessments, and wholesale remarketing channels.
• Knowledge of macro and regional economic/social trends, seasonality, and significant automotive trends related to used vehicle pricing.
• Capability to work autonomously under time constraints and manage competing deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational abilities.
• Professional and effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Adaptability in job functions and ability to embrace procedural changes.
• Proficient PC skills with the ability to navigate multiple platforms.
• Familiarity with NAAA auction policies is highly desirable.
• Previous experience in frame assessment or condition report writing is preferred.
• A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent college experience is preferred.
• A minimum of 5 years of relevant automotive/remarketing experience is required.
• Proficiency in Daybreak, AutoIMS, RDN, Manheim Market Report, and CSAToday.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Experience with web navigation and web-based applications.
• Familiarity with operating copy machines, fax machines, and other standard office equipment.
