This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut.
• Collaborate with manufacturing facilities, maintenance teams, engineering departments, equipment vendors, and technical specialists to enhance equipment reliability and maintenance effectiveness.
• Design and refine equipment maintenance and reliability strategies across various manufacturing sites.
• Evaluate equipment performance and maintenance data to pinpoint issues, recurring failures, and areas for improvement.
• Utilize maintenance downtime, MTBF, MTTR, repeat failures, PM performance, and maintenance history to prioritize enhancements.
• Conduct and facilitate root cause analyses for significant and recurring equipment failures, assisting in the development of corrective actions.
• Implement FMEA, equipment criticality, and reliability-centered maintenance principles to assess risks and maintenance requirements.
• Review preventive maintenance programs to enhance task content, frequencies, and overall effectiveness.
• Identify opportunities to shift from time-based preventive maintenance to condition-based and predictive maintenance.
• Strengthen connections between equipment failure modes and maintenance tasks.
• Assist in maintenance planning, scheduling, backlog management, work order quality, job plans, and failure coding using SAP or other CMMS/EAM systems.
• Enhance the quality of maintenance and reliability data and promote common standards across manufacturing sites.
• Engage in site maintenance assessments to identify gaps and potential improvements.
• Support predictive maintenance and asset health initiatives, including vibration analysis, thermography, ultrasound, and oil analysis.
• Collaborate with OEE and Industrial Engineering teams to translate equipment availability losses into improvement opportunities.
• Provide maintenance and reliability insights for new and modified equipment, participating in design and maintainability reviews.
• Work with OEM technical and service teams on troubleshooting, equipment repair, failure analysis, and reliability enhancement.
• Assess the technical performance of OEM and third-party maintenance providers.
• Document lessons learned and disseminate successful practices across sites.
• Willingness to travel up to 50%.
• A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or another relevant technical field with 5 or more years of experience in manufacturing engineering, equipment engineering, industrial maintenance, equipment reliability, or a related technical area, OR a Master's degree in engineering with 3 or more years of relevant experience.
• Proven experience with industrial/manufacturing equipment and troubleshooting equipment issues.
• Demonstrated experience in participating in or facilitating root cause analyses and structured problem-solving initiatives.
• Skilled in analyzing equipment and maintenance data to identify trends and recurring issues.
• Familiarity with equipment reliability principles and maintenance work-management fundamentals, including work orders, preventive maintenance, planning, scheduling, and backlog management.
• Experience with a CMMS/EAM system.
• U.S. citizenship is mandatory, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
• Preferred: Experience with SAP PM/EAM.
• Preferred: Knowledge of FMEA, RCM, asset criticality, or PM optimization.
• Preferred: Experience in analyzing MTBF, MTTR, equipment downtime, or other reliability metrics.
• Preferred: Exposure to predictive or condition-based maintenance technologies, including vibration analysis, infrared thermography, ultrasound, or oil analysis.
• Preferred: Experience with automated or complex manufacturing equipment.
• Preferred: Background in working with OEMs or third-party equipment service providers.
• Preferred: Familiarity with maintenance planning and scheduling or maintenance work-management improvements.
• Preferred: Understanding of OEE and equipment availability.
• Preferred: Experience in participating in equipment installation, commissioning, or capital equipment projects.
• Preferred: Knowledge of equipment maintainability, spare parts requirements, or maintenance-readiness reviews.
• Preferred: Reliability or maintenance training/certification, or an interest in pursuing certifications such as CMRP or predictive maintenance certifications.
