Release Train Engineer – RTE

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Act as a servant leader and facilitator for the Agile Release Train (ART).

• Plan and facilitate PI Planning, System Demos, Inspect & Adapt workshops, and Scrum of Scrums.

• Foster Agile and SAFe adoption through coaching, mentoring, and standardizing processes.

• Identify and manage program-level risks, dependencies, and obstacles.

• Coordinate the visibility of sprint objectives, deliverables, and milestones across ARTs.

• Maintain and share ART metrics with program leadership.

• Collaborate with Product Managers, System Architects, and Scrum Masters.

• Enhance continuous delivery pipelines via automation, CI/CD optimization, and alignment with DevSecOps.

• Ensure adherence to federal Agile delivery standards, documentation requirements, and performance metrics.

• Advocate for transparency, accountability, and servant leadership.

• Generate PI Planning artifacts, ART and sprint metrics reports, continuous improvement reports, cross-team coordination deliverables, and governance documentation.

• Drive the attainment of measurable business value during each PI.


⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of progressive experience in Agile software delivery environments.

• More than 8 years in a Release Train Engineer or Senior Agile Program Manager role supporting large-scale, multi-team programs.

• A minimum of 10 years of general experience in information systems.

• At least 8 years of specialized experience.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

• Minimum Education: MA/MS.

• Experience may substitute for degree: HS with 16+ years, AA/AS with 14+ years, BA/BS with 12+ years, or Doctorate/Ph.D. with 9+ years.

• SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE) certification is mandatory.

• Profound knowledge of SAFe principles, Lean-Agile leadership, and value stream optimization.

• Experience managing 6 to 12+ concurrent Scrum teams within a single ART.

• Experience implementing Agile at scale in federal contracting or enterprise modernization programs.

• Proficiency with Jira, Rally, Azure DevOps, or VersionOne.

• Strong grasp of DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile release management.

• Background in incremental delivery planning, metrics-driven execution, and continuous improvement.

• Experience in federal Agile transformation initiatives and SAFe implementation in secure environments.

• Familiarity with AWS/Azure and modern full-stack ecosystems, including React and NodeJS.

• Knowledge of FinOps, cloud cost optimization, and governance frameworks.

• Practical experience with Agile coaching, Kanban systems, and flow metrics analysis.

• SAFe Program Consultant (SPC) is highly preferred.

• PMP, PMI-ACP, or Agile Certified Practitioner certifications are preferred.

• ITIL 4 Foundation is beneficial.

• Exceptional presentation and communication skills.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Capability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

• No U.S. citizenship is required.

• Must be able to work 40 scheduled hours each week.
