Release, Production Readiness Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee release planning, deployment coordination, cutover processes, and ensure production readiness for AirHub UAT, Beta, and Production releases.

• Create and uphold integrated release plans, release calendars, readiness checklists, and deployment timelines.

• Manage application, data, integration, infrastructure, configuration, and other technical deployment tasks.

• Define and monitor technical and operational release readiness criteria as well as entry and exit criteria.

• Conduct technical release readiness reviews and assist in go/no-go decision-making.

• Formulate comprehensive cutover plans, deployment sequencing, roles, responsibilities, and execution protocols.

• Ensure that rollback/backout plans and deployment procedures are documented, verified, and prepared for implementation.

• Monitor release dependencies, defects, risks, issues, and technical readiness across delivery teams.

• Collaborate with Quality Engineering to integrate testing outcomes and outstanding defects into release readiness evaluations.

• Set up production support, incident management, and escalation processes for each release.

• Confirm that monitoring, alerting, runbooks, SOPs, access, incident/problem management, backup/recovery, and support protocols are fully prepared.

• Organize post-deployment validation and production verification activities.

• Direct release stabilization and technical hypercare initiatives.

• Oversee the transition of stabilized releases into routine operations and maintenance.

• Collaborate closely with Engineering, Quality Engineering, Data, DevSecOps, Product, and operations teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in enterprise release management, deployment management, production readiness, DevOps, IT operations, or comparable technology delivery roles.

• Proven experience in coordinating complex enterprise application releases across various technical teams and environments.

• Experience in developing release plans, deployment schedules, cutover plans, rollback procedures, and production readiness standards.

• Strong knowledge of contemporary CI/CD, DevSecOps, cloud infrastructure, application and data deployment, and configuration management practices.

• Proficient in facilitating release readiness and go/no-go reviews.

• Familiarity with production support, monitoring, incident/problem management, operational runbooks, and stabilization/hypercare.

• Experience in managing release dependencies, risks, defects, and technical entry/exit criteria.

• Background in supporting Agile software development and iterative release models.

• Experience in cloud-native environments, with a preference for AWS experience.

• Support for Federal technology environments is a plus.

• Exceptional planning, coordination, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
