Relational Accountability – Transforming Social Work with Indigenous Peoples

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Instruct SK665 (WA1 and WA2): Relational Accountability: Transforming Social Work with Indigenous Peoples

• Facilitate comprehensive reflection on social work values and practices concerning Indigenous Peoples

• Engage students with Indigenous perspectives and values while steering clear of Indigenous cultural practices and prevailing colonial narratives

• Assist students in contemplating their ancestral backgrounds, connections to the land, and their responsibilities in personal and social work transformation

• Conduct the course online via virtual asynchronous instruction during Winter 2027, from January 11 to February 28

• Evaluate and support an expected cohort of 35 students

⛳️ Requirements

• A Master’s Degree is required

• Degree in Social Work or a related field

• Must be eligible for appointment to the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies to teach graduate courses

• A PhD degree is considered an asset

• CV is mandatory

• Candidate Application Form is required

• External applicants must provide names and contact details for referees

• External applicants must also demonstrate good teaching credentials

• External applicants are required to provide verification of their highest degree

• Must possess the legal right to work in Canada

• Course delivery will be online and virtual asynchronous

• Applications will be evaluated based on the relevant collective-agreement criteria and program-specific rubric
