Reimbursement Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Monitor patient accounts for all varieties of hospital claims.

• Track accounts through secondary and subsequent payers.

• Evaluate all accounts with payments received from the prior day.

• Review and address the reminder queue on a daily basis.

• Submit secondary, tertiary, and additional paper claims as necessary.

• Uphold established policies, procedures, objectives, quality assurance programs, and safety standards.

• Engage in educational programs and in-service training.

• Deliver customer support to patients, internal clients, and insurance providers.

• Record electronic payments received on a daily basis.

• Generate bank statements and examine received payments.

• Print and organize payment batches according to date and batch number.

• Perform additional tasks as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School diploma or an equivalent qualification is required.

• A minimum of three years of experience as a hospital collector is necessary.

• At least two years of experience with Texas Medicaid and government payers is preferred.

• Comprehensive understanding of hospital managed care contracts, standard collection practices, and state and federal regulations.

• Familiarity with medical terminology and diagnosis and procedure coding.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

• Experience with Meditech is advantageous.

• Capability to communicate effectively and professionally both over the phone and in writing.

• Strong math skills are essential.

• Ability to receive, understand, and execute instructions accurately.

• Competence to work safely with equipment, supplies, and materials.

• Compliance with attendance requirements and Human Resource policies is expected.

• Capability to meet the specified physical demands, including extended periods of sitting and data entry.
