Heavy Equipment, Specialty Desk Appraiser

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Mexico.

📋 Description

• Assess damage and create repair estimates for heavy machinery and specialty vehicles involved in insurance claims.

• Analyze photographs, documentation, and other claim-related materials to evaluate damage.

• Generate detailed repair estimates using approved industry-standard software.

• Evaluate decisions on repairing versus replacing parts and determine the appropriate usage of components.

• Determine whether vehicles can be repaired or should be classified as salvage.

• Collaborate with repair facilities to process supplements and revise estimates as necessary.

• Negotiate the scope of repairs and pricing with repair shops.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

• Support the organization’s quality initiatives.

• Travel as needed.

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or GED is required.

• Necessary licenses as required.

• A minimum of three (3) years of experience or a combination of education and experience that is equivalent, including at least one (1) year of experience with heavy equipment.

• Comprehensive understanding of operating heavy machinery.

• Capability to comprehend and utilize appraisal software.

• Exceptional oral and written communication skills, including presentation abilities.

• Proficient in PC usage, particularly with Microsoft Office products.

• Strong analytical and interpretive skills.

• Ability to work independently as well as within a team setting.

• Capacity to meet or exceed performance competencies.

• Must be able to stand and/or walk for extended periods.

• Must be able to kneel, squat, or bend.

• Must be able to work outdoors in both hot and cold weather conditions.

• Ability to climb, crawl, stoop, kneel, and reach or work overhead.

• Ability to lift or carry up to 50 pounds.

• Ability to push or pull up to 100 pounds.

• Ability to drive for up to 4 hours per day.
