This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.
• Exhibit exceptional project management capabilities.
• Assist health system administrators and managers in making informed decisions based on financial data and analysis.
• Aid management in crafting business plans and engaging in various special projects.
• Ensure the completion of accurate, compliant, and thoroughly documented third-party cost reports.
• Analyze financial and statistical data utilized in reimbursement reports.
• Validate and assess rate calculations and final settlements submitted by third-party payers and government entities.
• Keep up-to-date with reimbursement accounting and healthcare financial analysis practices.
• Support third-party cost report audits and address inquiries from third-party auditors as well as external and internal audits.
• Reconcile revenue discrepancies between hospital financial reports and third-party payer/government agency reports.
• Prepare interim cost reports for independent audit assessments, annual budget internal contractual estimations, and the case mix system.
• Provide the Accounting Department with updated reimbursement rate information.
• Regularly review monthly contractual allowance calculations.
• Engage in and propose areas for formal appeals to third-party and governmental agencies.
• Compile formal appeal work papers.
• Assist with specialized reimbursement and cost study analyses and gather statistical data.
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• CPA and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration are preferred.
• Two to four years of experience in finance, ideally within the healthcare sector.
• Familiarity with federal and state regulations and laws impacting institutional healthcare providers.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and technical methods, as well as financial analysis specific to healthcare institutions and systems.
• Capability to interpret statutes and regulations, CMS guidelines, GAAP, GAAS, professional audit standards, and reimbursement principles.
• Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite and data extraction software.
