This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.
• Assist in month-end closing activities, financial reporting, treasury functions, accounts payable, expense processes, and internal control measures.
• Execute and evaluate journal entries, reconciliations, and account analyses.
• Independently oversee designated areas of the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing procedures.
• Support financial reporting efforts.
• Aid in the administration of the Company’s SOX compliance program.
• Complete and document assigned controls while conducting tests of those controls.
• Review and process vendor invoices, ensuring proper coding, supporting documentation, and approval routing.
• Manage the Accounts Payable inbox and address inquiries.
• Create and maintain vendor master files.
• Review employee expense reports and assist with related inquiries.
• Reconcile monthly credit card statements.
• Prepare and execute weekly payment runs.
• Utilize accounting software such as NetSuite or Tipalti.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement within processes and systems.
• Collaborate with team members and cross-functional partners.
• Handle sensitive financial information with professionalism.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• At least 1 year of relevant work experience.
• Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., NetSuite or similar).
• Basic to intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Exposure to financial reporting or reconciliation activities.
• Understanding of GAAP and fundamental financial reporting principles.
• Experience working in a team setting or on cross-functional projects.
• Knowledge and application of basic accounting principles (U.S. GAAP).
• Capability to execute and analyze journal entries, reconciliations, and account analyses.
• Familiarity with financial statements.
• Ability to assist with SOX compliance, control documentation, and control testing.
• Strong Excel skills, including proficiency with formulas, sorting, and pivot tables.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Professionalism in managing sensitive financial information.
• Progress toward CPA or an interest in pursuing certification is preferred.
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
