Registered Nurse (RN), Patient Access and Care Team – Weekender

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Participate in unit councils, professional governance, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance care processes and implement evidence-based practices.

• Apply the nursing process for assessing, planning, diagnosing, implementing, and evaluating nursing care.

• Involve patients and their families throughout the continuum of care.

• Monitor patient conditions, modify care plans, mobilize resources, and collaborate with the healthcare team.

• Foster and advocate for a culture of safety.

• Assess patient, team, and unit outcomes, taking necessary actions as required.

• Safely administer medications, treatments, and therapies in accordance with clinical protocols and procedures.

• Exhibit effective communication, provide feedback, resolve conflicts, collaborate within teams, and delegate appropriately.

• Engage in professional development, fulfill required educational components, and maintain necessary certifications.

• Follow the ANA Code of Ethics and contribute to unbiased, integrated patient care.

• Delegate tasks appropriately to Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, and unlicensed assistive personnel.

• Ensure accurate and timely documentation in electronic health records (EHR).

• Be prepared to float to other units, departments, care areas, or facilities within the designated service area as needed.

• Deliver age-appropriate care tailored to patient status and developmental needs.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must reside within 50 miles of the call center (Mint Hill or Winston Salem).

• A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and 5 years of Registered Nurse (RN) experience are required.

• Graduate from a nursing education program approved by the Board of Nursing.

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

• Active, unrestricted RN multi-state compact and/or single-state license with privileges to practice in the relevant state(s) where nursing services are provided to clients.

• Licensed nurses providing care through telehealth/telenursing/virtual modalities must have a license or privileges to practice in the state(s) where clients are located.

• Typically requires at least 1 year of clinical nursing experience.

• Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking abilities.

• Proficient in time management, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal capabilities.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

• Proficient in using computer functions, including email, electronic records, and digital platforms.

• Ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently.

• Capability to lift and support up to 35 pounds.

• Ability to push/pull with 30 lbs. of force and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with assistance from another person.

• Functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch, along with fine motor skills for IV insertion and other procedures.

• Ability to maneuver foot pedals on equipment.

• Competence in executing physical safety interventions, including patient restraint and verbal de-escalation.

• Quick response capability to changes in patient and/or unit conditions.

• Physical Abilities Testing may be necessary.
