This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.
• Oversee Infection Prevention and Control initiatives under the direction of the Infection Prevention Manager.
• Facilitate and support the execution of a comprehensive infection control and prevention program across the organization.
• Recognize, prevent, and eliminate or mitigate sources of infection.
• Establish and monitor procedures aimed at decreasing hospital-acquired infections.
• Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal regulatory standards.
• Utilize epidemiological principles and statistical techniques, including risk stratification.
• Conduct surveillance following NHSN guidelines and investigate hospital-acquired infections.
• Employ computer-based tools for tracking, reporting, and sharing surveillance data.
• Generate statistical reports to identify and analyze infection trends.
• Investigate, document, and communicate infection control concerns.
• Examine infection outbreaks in collaboration with healthcare and public health experts.
• Engage in quality and performance enhancement initiatives.
• Perform environmental assessments and construction risk evaluations.
• Deliver infection prevention interventions to ensure safety for patients, visitors, and staff.
• Provide expert knowledge and guidance in infection prevention, control, and epidemiology.
• Work with Employee Health on communicable disease exposure and follow-up procedures.
• Educate healthcare providers, staff, patients, families, and the public regarding infection prevention strategies.
• Act as a leader, mentor, and role model for facility personnel and healthcare professionals.
• Collaborate on fiscal management through the assessment of infection prevention technologies and products.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing or a healthcare-related field (required).
• Certification in Infection Control (CIC) from the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology, Inc. (CBIC) (required within 3 years).
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in direct patient care or a related healthcare field (preferred).
• Experience in infection control/prevention (preferred).
• Knowledge of improvement science.
• Proven ability/experience to lead and facilitate interdisciplinary teams.
• Demonstrated experience in performance improvement.
• Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical capabilities.
• Comprehensive understanding of computer systems and various software applications.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative.
