This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities via cold calling, email outreach, trade shows, and industry associations.
• Recognize key regional accounts and formulate action plans to enhance Loma's visibility and market penetration.
• Establish and maintain communication with customers and potential clients to comprehend their needs and align them with Loma's offerings.
• Develop accounts, oversee activities, and successfully convert leads into closed deals.
• Keep customer accounts, activities, statuses, and forecasts updated within Loma’s CRM system.
• Attain expertise in Loma and Lock product applications and principles, including PC-based product simulations.
• Implement consultative sales strategies that emphasize Loma’s unique value propositions.
• Collect competitive insights and relay this information to management.
• Seek customer referrals, testimonials, and leads for additional plants, customers, or sales regions.
• Specify mechanical systems and instrumentation, including fundamentals of conveyor systems, belt-speed dynamics, product handling, and measurement conversions.
• Investigate industries and key accounts to stay informed on current market trends and critical issues.
• Operate autonomously and conduct business in a professional manner.
• Engage in trade shows, including responsibilities for hosting, setup, and teardown.
• Set annual regional growth objectives and take responsibility for achieving sales and service targets.
• Utilize Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, CRM, and email applications effectively in a mobile setting.
• Implement Loma toolbox initiatives, particularly focusing on the 80/20 principle, within the region.
• Occasionally travel outside the region for trade shows or visits to Loma facilities, especially in Carol Stream, Illinois.
• Submit a monthly sales report to the Sales Manager.
• Complete related tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
• High school diploma is mandatory.
• A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• At least 5 years of experience in Sales, Marketing, Market Development, Account Management, or a related field.
• Demonstrated regional sales management experience in the food processing or packaging sector is preferred.
• Background in technical capital equipment is preferred.
• Experience in industrial capital sales is advantageous.
• Strong communication, analytical, and computer skills are essential.
• Proven success in customer-facing sales roles is required; marketing experience is a plus.
• Capability to read and interpret safety regulations, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Proficiency in writing routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to effectively communicate before customer or employee groups.
• Skills in calculating discounts, commissions, percentages, and other figures are necessary.
• Aptitude for identifying problems, analyzing data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions.
• A positive attitude towards customers and colleagues is crucial.
• Resilience in the face of rejection is important.
• Strong time management, multitasking, and organizational capabilities are required.
• A valid driver’s license is necessary.
• Willingness to travel at least 50% of the time is required.
• Experience in a capital equipment manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Proficient in specifying mechanical systems and instrumentation.
• Knowledge of conveyors, belt-speed relationships, product handling, and both US and metric measurement conversions is beneficial.
• Excellent command of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, CRM, and email applications is expected.
• Ability to work independently and maintain professionalism is essential.
