Regional Product Manager – Atomic Spectroscopy

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +12 more states.

📋 Description

• Assist the commercial team in the NAM Region and contribute to the execution of the regional Inorganics strategy.

• Facilitate communication between central product management and regional sales and marketing departments.

• Offer product knowledge, competitive analysis capabilities, and insights into local market trends.

• Examine win/loss statistics, gather regional customer feedback, promote demand generation, monitor regional KPIs, and enhance financial outcomes.

• Provide immediate product knowledge to regional sales teams, aid in customer demonstrations, and engage in key account meetings.

• Oversee regional competitive strategies and offer advice on competitor products, pricing structures, and claims.

• Assist sales management with product mix evaluations, forecasting data, and portfolio usage statistics.

• Engage in distributor management through product education, commercial assistance, and competitive resources.

• Spearhead the regional implementation of global product launches and tailor launch strategies to fit regional contexts, regulatory needs, and priorities.

• Organize launch campaigns, customer events, and demand creation initiatives alongside Regional Marketing Managers.

• Manage regional beta programs in collaboration with the NPI Product Manager.

• Conduct regional sales training on new product introductions.

• Report on competitive actions, customer insights, application trends, and market changes to central product management.

• Engage in discussions with customers centered on competitive usage, unmet requirements, pricing awareness, and regulatory trends.

• Represent PerkinElmer at regional conferences, trade fairs, and customer gatherings.

• Provide documented regional feedback on product needs, pricing suggestions, and application priorities.

• Cultivate relationships with key regional clients, opinion leaders, early adopters, and major-volume purchasers.

• Support key account teams with product-specific insights for tenders, framework agreements, and strategic partnerships.

• Collaborate with the Applications Scientist on demonstrations, method development, and application support.


⛳️ Requirements

• 5–10 years of experience in product management, technical sales, application science, or commercial marketing in the realms of analytical instrumentation or scientific equipment.

• Extensive working knowledge of at least one product line technology: atomic spectroscopy, chromatography, or materials characterization, along with its key regional application markets.

• Proven capability to function effectively as a field-based specialist with minimal day-to-day management supervision.

• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.

• Willingness and capability to travel frequently within the assigned region (40–50%).

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Physics, or a related scientific field.

• Preferred: advanced degree (MSc, PhD) in a pertinent analytical or materials science discipline.

• Preferred: practical laboratory experience with analytical instrumentation.

• Preferred: previous experience in a field-based position.

• Preferred: native or near-native proficiency in the primary commercial language of the assigned region where English is not the dominant language.
