This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.
• Direct and oversee Associate Directors – Territory Operations Management within the designated region.
• Supervise the expansion of AstraZeneca cell therapy territories and ensure alignment with company-wide objectives across both clinical and commercial products.
• Offer expert insight in operational, clinical, and site infrastructure matters related to cell therapy trials and commercial offerings.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives within the region in collaboration with internal partners.
• Formulate and execute regional operational plans, set targets, and create activation forecasts.
• Establish and nurture relationships with site partners, healthcare professionals, and regional stakeholders.
• Contribute to the development of SOPs and guidance documents while ensuring adherence to site quality standards.
• Provide leadership, mentoring, and professional growth opportunities for team members.
• Spearhead business change management and perform process maturity evaluations for site activation and post-activation phases.
• Analyze market and site dynamics within the region to identify opportunities, obstacles, and solutions across various therapeutic areas.
• Collaborate with Clinical Operations, SMM, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Medical, IT leadership, and other departments to operationalize cell therapy products and prepare sites accordingly.
• Propel continuous improvements and solutions to enhance patient care throughout the cell therapy product lifecycle.
• Present operational reports pertaining to patients and regional plans to senior management.
• Stay informed about and adhere to activation goals, processes, regulatory standards, compliance protocols, and company values.
• A Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Business, IT, or Life Sciences, or equivalent experience.
• Over 8 years of experience in a Cell Therapy Program as an Operational Champion or equivalent role, within a healthcare/pharmaceutical setting, directly interacting with patients and/or healthcare providers.
• At least 5 years of experience in a leadership position within Cell Therapy.
• Proven capability to develop and implement operational strategies in cell therapy.
• Experience in change management and the ability to promptly address complex issues.
• Willingness to provide support outside regular working hours for urgent patient cases.
• Readiness to travel domestically and internationally up to 50%.
• Understanding of the healthcare customer environment and hospital regulations.
• Experience in a matrix organization with complex IT systems or platforms that support customer service, healthcare scheduling, supply chain management, and call centers.
• Familiarity with heavily regulated environments, quality control processes, and strict SOPs.
