This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Iowa, +1 more state.
• Guide the assigned sales team by nurturing sales personnel and enhancing their sales capabilities and efficiencies.
• Propel on-the-ground sales, customer performance, EDI, and GPOS sales efforts.
• Establish, sustain, and oversee professional relationships with key field representatives from distributor and retail accounts.
• Foster new business prospects through business proposals and by capitalizing on existing retail account initiatives.
• Monitor customer feedback and address local account concerns in collaboration with the National Account Management Team.
• Manage communications between accounts and Valent.
• Ensure customer satisfaction for designated retail accounts.
• Create and execute strategic plans for specific key retail accounts.
• Prioritize and perform direct sales calls and on-site customer visits.
• Analyze and monitor key account performance metrics and sales objectives.
• Convey Valent prices, terms, and programs to key accounts and sales team members.
• Collaborate with Sales and Marketing Management on account activities, customer strategies, and business-impacting events.
• Develop regional sales personnel through coaching, training programs, and personal assessments.
• Communicate program earnings analyses, reports, and payments to key accounts.
• Lead regional financial objectives by maximizing sales and overseeing expenses.
• Concentrate sales efforts and call frequency on regional and national distribution opportunities.
• Formulate and present business proposals and account-support strategies.
• Safeguard existing account revenue and pinpoint additional revenue opportunities.
• Coordinate sales activities, objectives, tactics, and procurement negotiations.
• Align customer needs with regional managers, marketing, supply chain, and sales management.
• Implement and monitor sales strategies and tactics.
• Anticipate regional sales-area requirements for the current and upcoming year.
• Develop regional sales business plans and assess the administrative responsibilities of sales representatives.
• Determine territorial coverage and adjustments for optimal ROI over a 1–5-year timeframe.
• Collect and report market and competitive intelligence.
• Oversee and assess sales and administrative staff in the designated region.
• Generally, a BA, MBA, or equivalent, accompanied by 10–12 years of relevant experience.
• 8–10 years of progressive management experience.
• Ability to build and maintain relationships.
• Skills in initiative, persuasion, judgment, decision-making, and diplomacy.
• Strong integrity and leadership qualities.
• Proficiency in problem-solving and customer analysis.
• Excellent oral, written, and group communication skills.
• Experience in coaching and counseling.
• Proficient in Central Business Systems and Microsoft Office Systems.
• Willingness to travel by air or car up to 75% of the time.
• Capability to drive safely over long distances.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. constantly, up to 75 lbs. frequently, and over 100 lbs. occasionally.
• Capacity to work in or around moving vehicles, equipment, machinery, uneven terrain, noise, extreme temperatures and humidity, dust, gas, fumes, chemicals, insects, animals, and heights.
• May be required to work outdoors in agricultural crop fields, assist with demonstration plots, and utilize a respirator and other personal protective equipment.
