This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Ensure adherence to relevant federal, provincial, and local employment laws, human rights mandates, workplace health and safety standards, and company policies.

• Keep updated on relevant legislation regarding leave, accommodation, accessibility, and human rights, including employment standards, protected leaves, disability management, and duty-to-accommodate obligations.

• Address employee concerns and assist with employee relations issues, including documentation, policy interpretation, resolution suggestions, corrective actions, policy enforcement, and offboarding processes.

• Assist locations with their union workforce, comprehend collective bargaining agreements (CBAs), and collaborate with the Corporate Labour Relations Team.

• Clarify employee benefit programs, respond to employee queries, and help resolve benefits-related issues.

• Facilitate employee development programs and performance enhancement processes.

• Organize and manage onboarding activities for new locations in conjunction with the Corporate Transition team.

• Provide guidance and clarify company policies and procedures to both employees and business leaders.

• Maintain employee records, track HR metrics, and produce reports utilizing the HRIS system while ensuring compliance with privacy regulations.

• Act as a liaison between Corporate People Operations and venue leadership by addressing questions, communicating updates, and sharing feedback.

• Assist People Operations Transition Leads and hiring managers throughout the recruitment and selection process.

• Collaborate with Corporate People Operations on strategic HR initiatives and programs.

• Support special HR projects as directed by the Vice President of Human Resources.

• Provide general administrative assistance to the OVG People Operations team.

• Undertake additional duties as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience (preferred).

• A minimum of four (4) years of progressive experience in Human Resources.

• A professional HR designation such as CHRP, CHRL, CHRE, CPHR, or equivalent is considered advantageous.

• Willingness to travel up to 25%, sometimes with little advance notice.

• Strong knowledge of Canadian employment standards, human rights legislation, workplace accommodation requirements, privacy laws, and labour regulations.

• Proficient in Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS); experience with ADP and ICIMS is preferred.

• Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

• Strong organizational and project management abilities with a capacity to manage multiple priorities effectively.

• Familiarity with HR best practices and industry-specific HR trends.

• Experience supporting employees across various Canadian provinces and interpreting provincial employment standards and labour laws.

• Exceptional interpersonal, relationship-building, and employee coaching skills.

• Strong judgment and decision-making capabilities with a keen understanding of employee and business needs.

• Comfortable working amid ambiguity and navigating complex employee scenarios.

• Ability to remain flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced, changing work environment.

• Proven track record of managing multiple priorities and adhering to deadlines.

• Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management skills, with the ability to work independently.

• Capability to handle highly confidential information with discretion and professionalism.

• Proficient in HRIS platforms and quick to learn new technologies.

• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
