Regional Finance Controller

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Latin America.

📋 Description

• Manage the global monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes across various legal entities and jurisdictions.

• Oversee consolidated financial reporting, ensuring balance-sheet integrity, intercompany accounting, foreign exchange, and multi-currency operations.

• Supervise the global entity and finance operational structure, taking into account statutory, tax, transfer-pricing, banking, and compliance requirements in collaboration with external specialists.

• Implement internal controls, approval frameworks, segregation of duties, audit readiness, and financial risk management practices.

• Administer cash management, treasury functions, accounts payable/receivable, working capital, collections, purchasing controls, and expenditure discipline.

• Safeguard profitability and margins by identifying leakage, unprofitable customers, products, processes, cost drivers, and implementing corrective measures.

• Provide executive financial reporting, design key performance indicators (KPIs), conduct scenario analysis, offer forecasting support, and enhance decision-making quality.

• Lead finance and accounting teams across different regions, establishing clear standards, operational rhythms, accountability, and development opportunities.

• Design finance systems and processes across ERP/accounting, CRM, billing, banking, payroll, expense, and reporting environments.

• Formulate an AI and automation strategy for finance operations, which includes agentic workflows and repeatable controls related to AI-assisted tasks.

• Construct or direct AI agents and workflows for reconciliations, variance analysis, invoice/document evaluation, exception detection, management reporting, research, collections follow-up, and control monitoring.

• Integrate AI workflows with procedures, approval protocols, source systems, and human review points.

• Differentiate tasks that can be automated from those requiring financial judgment or segregation of duties.

• Utilize AI while maintaining traceability, confidentiality, auditability, and standards of financial control.

• Educate the team on the safe and productive use of AI, measuring improvements in cycle time, quality, and cost.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of progressive experience in finance/accounting, with significant leadership roles as Controller, Regional Controller, Finance Director, Director of Accounting, or equivalent.

• Proven ownership of a multi-entity and multi-country finance environment; experience in North America is highly preferred.

• Solid understanding of consolidated reporting, intercompany transactions, revenue and expense recognition, treasury functions, tax coordination, statutory requirements, and auditing processes.

• In-depth knowledge of IFRS and/or US GAAP; a CPA/CA or equivalent professional designation is strongly preferred.

• Experience dealing with complex entity structures, international tax coordination, transfer pricing, and cross-border finance operations.

• Demonstrated capability to assess profitability, unit economics, working capital, cost structures, and financial risks rather than merely reporting historical data.

• Proven experience in building or transforming finance processes, shared services, ERP/finance systems, or automation initiatives.

• Strong leadership skills: mature judgment, effective executive communication, ability to constructively challenge, and capacity to nurture leaders within the team.

• Advanced, demonstrable experience with AI tools and/or expertise in designing agentic workflows, automation, or AI-enabled operating systems.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.
