This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Provide strategic and operational guidance across accounting and financial reporting functions.
• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes while ensuring the timely and accurate preparation of GAAP-compliant financial statements.
• Maintain the integrity of the general ledger, manage account reconciliations, revenue recognition, accruals, and accounting policies.
• Deliver financial reporting and analysis to senior management and the Board.
• Manage cash flow forecasting, liquidity planning, accounts receivable, collections, accounts payable, and working capital performance.
• Support relationships with banks, lender reporting, and compliance with debt covenants.
• Supervise accounting and reporting across tournaments, sponsorships, registrations, licensing, media, and other revenue channels.
• Maintain and enhance internal controls, financial governance, accounting policies, and standard operating procedures.
• Coordinate annual audits and ensure tax compliance, including sales and use tax obligations.
• Lead purchase price accounting for transactions and assist the audit firm with the PPA entry.
• Act as the business owner for Sage Intacct, ensuring effective configuration, reporting, integration, and scalability.
• Optimize Ramp expense management, corporate card controls, accounts payable automation, and visibility into spending.
• Direct annual budgeting and monthly forecasting, including variance analysis and identification of key business drivers.
• Develop KPI dashboards, operational reports, and profitability reports for business units and programs.
• Collaborate with business leaders on financial performance, pricing strategies, margin enhancement, and investment decisions.
• Lead upgrades of finance systems, module deployments, process redesign, and automation initiatives.
• Establish performance objectives, accountability measures, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
• Report directly to the Chief Financial Officer.
• Assist with M&A integration, including purchase price allocation and migration of financial systems.
• Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) credential.
• Over 8 years of progressive accounting and controllership experience, including responsibility for financial close and GAAP-compliant reporting.
• Experience in audit leadership and a strong understanding of internal controls, compliance, and financial governance.
• Proficient in managing cash flow, liquidity, working capital, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
• Proven ability to lead and develop team members in accounting and finance.
• Experience in enhancing finance systems and processes, with hands-on knowledge of Sage Intacct or a similar ERP.
• Capable of translating financial and operational data into clear reports, analyses, and recommendations for business leaders.
• Strong communication skills across functions, along with project leadership and change management capabilities.
• Ability to handle competing priorities while ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and accountability.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
• Willingness to travel up to 5% of the time.
• Full-time schedule of 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with occasional nights and weekends as business needs dictate.
• Preferred: Experience with mergers and acquisitions, purchase price accounting, and post-acquisition integration.
• Preferred: Background in sports, youth programming, events, SaaS, or similar multi-revenue stream organizations.
• Preferred: Familiarity with Ramp or a comparable expense management and accounts payable automation platform.
• Preferred: Experience in developing scalable management and Board dashboards.
• Preferred: Expertise in financial planning, analysis, and modeling.
