This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +4 more states.
• Assist in the development and ongoing maintenance of the workforce safety culture for MTM Transit within the designated East Region.
• Ensure that all assigned locations and employees receive uniform training that aligns with state, federal, and contract-specific standards.
• Guarantee adherence to drug and alcohol testing, DOT, OSHA, and other mandated processes and programs.
• Conduct reporting, data analytics, root cause analysis, audits, and formulate strategies.
• Create and implement standard operating procedures for site-specific and organizational safety training and regulations.
• Act as a liaison with government agencies during audits or on-site inspections.
• Offer daily direction and leadership to the regional safety team.
• Design and present safety videos, manuals, policies, procedures, and programs.
• Partner with Transit, Operations Leadership, Training, HR, Marketing, and corporate teams on safety initiatives and training efforts.
• Identify training needs, project scope, and effective training methodologies.
• Organize and conduct annual audits of employee training files and site safety evaluations.
• Set safety metrics and reporting dashboards for monthly and quarterly presentations.
• Coordinate classroom and behind-the-wheel training covering passenger transportation operations and safety protocols.
• Support corporate safety incentives and programs, encompassing safety points, audits, recognition, and evaluation of program effectiveness.
• Develop and facilitate monthly refresher training on relevant safety topics.
• Investigate vehicle accidents and workplace injuries in collaboration with HR and local safety personnel; recommend causes, preventability, and retraining measures.
• Ensure comprehensive safety training plans are in place for new implementations, addressing employees, leaders, internal staff, and external stakeholders.
• Seek and lead advancements in safety training techniques and programs.
• Revise training materials to uphold instructional integrity.
• Oversee the selection, training, and recruitment of safety personnel.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• High School Diploma or G.E.D.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in transit/paratransit safety management or a related field.
• At least 3 years of professional facilitation experience in a safety training role.
• Previous supervisory experience is required.
• Must hold a valid driver’s license.
• Capacity to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
• Ability to acquire and retain a comprehensive understanding of the services/products offered by MTM Transit, including protocols, policies, and procedures.
• Proficiency in prioritizing assigned projects, incidents, and requests.
• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to deliver presentations.
• Capability to effectively communicate with all management levels.
• Strong planning, organizational, and time management abilities.
• Ability to manage shifting priorities, juggle multiple projects, meet deadlines, and adapt to a dynamic business environment.
• Capacity to work independently as well as part of a team with a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and high level of accountability.
• Commitment to achieving excellence.
• Proficient in Microsoft Windows and Office software applications, with advanced skills in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work collaboratively, professionally, and diplomatically in a fast-paced environment.
• Skill in interpreting technical data, operating instructions, and policy/procedure manuals.
• Ability to identify safety improvement opportunities and gaps, articulating options and tools to promote desired behaviors.
• Competence in effectively delegating tasks while providing appropriate supervision and follow-up.
• Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field is preferred.
• Certification as a Safety Professional (CSP) is preferred.
