This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Idaho, +2 more states.
• Act as the primary representative and spokesperson for JED in Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming.
• Develop and maintain relationships with state Departments of Education, Departments of Health and Human Services, Tribal education authorities, regional education associations, community organizations, nonprofits, and philanthropic partners.
• Represent JED within community coalitions, advisory boards, task forces, and public forums.
• Function as JED’s regional liaison to AFSP chapters throughout Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming.
• Discover and foster new leads and partnership prospects with school districts, high schools, and community-based organizations (CBOs).
• Collaborate with JED’s School Partnerships team to convert qualified leads into formal agreements.
• Monitor and manage the regional pipeline utilizing Salesforce or other CRM platforms.
• Identify opportunities to align JED's initiatives with state programs and funding sources.
• Matrix-manage regional Senior Consultants and Consultants involved in the District Mental Health Initiative and other school-focused programs.
• Offer mentorship, coaching, and performance management while tracking caseloads and program milestones.
• Ensure the consistent and high-quality implementation of JED’s Comprehensive Approach to Mental Health Promotion and Suicide Prevention for Districts.
• Assist in the recruitment, onboarding, and expansion of regional consulting capabilities.
• Act as a spokesperson and ambassador for JED’s complete program portfolio.
• Attend and present at regional conferences and gatherings.
• Serve as a thought leader on emotional health promotion and suicide prevention in the Intermountain West.
• Collaborate with SPC leadership on regional strategy, team culture, and cross-team initiatives.
• Provide regional insights to programmatic and consulting materials.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by JED leadership.
• Master’s degree in education, educational leadership, counseling, psychology, social work, public health, or a related field.
• At least 7+ years of experience in PK–12 mental health programming, youth-serving nonprofit sectors, or education leadership, with a preference for a focus on suicide prevention.
• Minimum of 2+ years of experience in managing teams, including responsibilities for hiring, coaching, and performance management.
• Comprehensive understanding of the education and youth mental health landscapes in Idaho, Montana, and/or Wyoming, including experience in frontier, rural, and Tribal communities.
• Proven ability to build relationships with state agencies, nonprofits, and funders, and to identify new business or partnership opportunities.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills, including comfort in presenting to senior leaders, state officials, and community groups.
• Familiarity with Salesforce or other CRM/project management tools.
• A strong passion for youth mental health and alignment with JED’s Guiding Principles and Shared Commitment to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Antiracism.
• Candidates must reside in the Mountain West Region.
• Fully remote work option.
• Regular travel across Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming (approximately 40–50%).
• Occasional travel to JED’s headquarters in NYC.
