This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +1 more state.
• Supervise local volunteer chapters within designated geographic regions.
• Coordinate Big Game banquets, special events, and various grassroots fundraising initiatives.
• Recruit, train, and retain a dedicated volunteer workforce.
• Manage the review and recommendation stages of RMEF’s granting program in Iowa and Illinois.
• Lead, organize, and assist local chapter committees in planning, organizing, and executing effective in-person fundraising activities and events.
• Achieve or surpass annual profit center objectives.
• Collaborate with regional, state, and chapter chairs to ensure adherence to operating policies, procedures, financial reporting, and event execution standards.
• Plan and conduct an annual in-person volunteer workshop focused on grassroots fundraising training and chapter/volunteer appreciation.
• Chair or co-chair the granting process, which includes solicitation, review, and recommendation of projects related to hunting heritage, habitat stewardship, wildlife management/research, and lands for RMEF funding.
• Oversee volunteer recruitment and grassroots fundraising training across all chapters within the profit center.
• Complete, maintain, and submit all necessary records, reports, and paperwork accurately and punctually.
• Address inquiries regarding RMEF activities and programs within the designated region.
• Ensure compliance with state nonprofit and charitable fundraising regulations, including raffles, drawings, games, and other fundraising activities.
• Initiate new chapters and/or in-person fundraising events to broaden RMEF's reach and enhance sustainable net revenue growth.
• Advocate for RMEF’s mission, objectives, programs, and conservation efforts.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business, Marketing, Fundraising, Communications, or a related field.
• Five years of additional professional experience in a business setting.
• Preferred experience in working with volunteers and fundraising efforts.
• Must reside in Iowa and Illinois.
• Willingness to travel frequently on weekdays and weekends.
• Flexibility to work any day of the week, including weekends.
• Capability to work late hours, often until after midnight.
• Ability to sit for prolonged periods in a vehicle or airplane and stand for intervals of 2–6 hours.
• Proficiency in working at a computer terminal for extended durations.
• Must be able to lift heavy items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• A valid state driver’s license and acceptable driving record are required to operate rental or personal vehicles for business travel.
• Comprehensive knowledge and support of RMEF’s mission, goals, organizational structure, activities, and the biological, social, and political factors that influence them.
• Inclusive understanding of the role of hunting in wildlife management and conservation.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, communication, and public speaking skills.
• Ability to build relationships with a diverse range of individuals.
• Self-motivated individual capable of directing and inspiring volunteers.
• Ability to identify future chapter opportunities and recruit volunteers accordingly.
• Expertise in annual fundraising income forecasts and operating expense budgets.
• Proficiency in web-based software platforms as well as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision.
• Ability to thrive in and foster a team-oriented environment.
• Ability to resolve conflicts, adapt to shifting priorities, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Willingness to travel extensively and work flexible hours.
• Regional Directors may be eligible for a bonus in addition to their annual salary if they meet all goals established for their profit center and remain employed for a full calendar year.
