This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Oversee the professional development requirements of schools and BEC partners within the designated region.
• Recruit, lead, mentor, and develop the regional consultant team.
• Provide consultation and create content for both internal and external training related to BEC programs and associated topics.
• Formulate annual plans for professional development meetings and training sessions.
• Offer constructive feedback on both supplemental and core products.
• Facilitate communication between consultants and the national team regarding product achievements and challenges.
• Utilize data and performance metrics to guide staffing strategies and departmental objectives.
• Respond to RFPs concerning professional development and product scopes of work as necessary.
• Collaborate with the Pilot Manager on pilot strategies, plans, and expectations.
• Organize district professional development for implementation and follow-up, manage expectations, and ensure client satisfaction.
• Monitor client expectations and results from the professional development implementation.
• Create sales presentations and customer-facing content for implementation and follow-up training.
• Develop solutions for intricate client situations.
• Train Regional Consultants and Per Diems on sales messaging, product implementation, and competitive landscape.
• Deliver sales presentations and implementation training as required.
• Conduct interviews for full-time consultant and regional Per Diem candidates.
• Observe and mentor consultant presentations.
• Perform performance reviews, provide coaching, and set consultant goals.
• Conduct field observations of direct reports twice a year.
• Supervise scheduled assignment submissions and authorize regional consultant expenses.
• Conduct practice presentations and promote team learning.
• Participate in regular meetings with other PD Regional Consultant Managers.
• Communicate with Regional Vice Presidents to keep regional teams updated on product developments, company decisions, marketing trends, materials, and competition.
• Collaborate with schedulers on assignment decisions and recommend conference presenters.
• Partner with the RVP and Senior Director of Professional Development to ensure streamlined PD operations.
• A Bachelor's degree is required; a Master's degree is preferred.
• At least 3 years of experience in elementary teaching.
• Teaching experience in Comprehensive Literacy, Science of Reading Research, Intervention Work, or English Language Learner Support.
• A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in professional development.
• Proven experience employing high-quality adult learning methodologies.
• Proficiency with various software, platforms, and devices.
• Ability to cultivate strong relationships with sales team members.
• Capability to build rapport with audiences and respond strategically to their inquiries.
• Skills in communication technology, including proficiency with current software, word processing, online browsers, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Zoom, Teams, and online tools.
• Familiarity with state standards within the designated region and best practices in educational technology.
• Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills; capable of addressing large audiences and key decision-makers in sales contexts.
• Ability to thrive in a cross-functional environment.
• Capacity to remain neutral and constructive when addressing customer concerns; organized and collaborative nature.
• Must be willing to travel overnight frequently, up to 50–60% of the time.
• Must be able to lift and move up to 50 lbs regularly.
• Possession of a valid driver's license is required.
• Must reside near a major metropolitan airport.
• Must live within the region corresponding to the job position's territory.
• Previous experience in curriculum development is preferred.
• Experience teaching with BEC products is desirable.
• Bilingual/biliterate candidates are preferred.
