This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York, +1 more state.
• Monitor federal and state regulations, minimum wage laws, contract stipulations, and waiver requirements.
• Communicate changes in regulations to operations and relevant stakeholders.
• Maintain a compliance alert system to track and distribute updates.
• Review and update state-mandated forms.
• Prepare, validate, and submit regional contract reports.
• Oversee the development, maintenance, and implementation of regional policies and procedures.
• Assess policies and procedures for any gaps and suggest improvements.
• Plan, coordinate, and engage in internal audits.
• Act as the primary liaison for external audits and provide necessary documentation.
• Facilitate and monitor Performance Improvement Plans and Corrective Action Plans.
• Investigate and document incidents of Fraud, Waste, Abuse, Privacy, HIPAA, and other critical issues.
• Manage reviews of Criminal Background Checks.
• Maintain secure compliance records for audits and reporting purposes.
• Collaborate with compliance team members and regional leadership to enhance processes.
• Provide compliance training or guidance to staff members.
• Perform additional duties that support the organization's compliance objectives.
• Uphold the company's mission, values, and ethical standards.
• Associate’s degree in business administration or a related field is preferred.
• 3–5 years of compliance-related experience in healthcare, financial services, or a regulated industry.
• Proven experience in managing audits, regulatory reporting, and policy implementation.
• Strong understanding of compliance principles, regulatory frameworks, and risk management processes.
• Ability to interpret and apply federal and state regulations, contract stipulations, and organizational policies.
• Proficiency in compliance management systems, databases, and the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills; capable of prioritizing tasks under pressure and meeting deadlines.
• Advanced written and verbal communication skills for preparing reports, policies, and stakeholder correspondence.
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify compliance gaps and recommend corrective measures.
• High level of confidentiality and integrity when handling sensitive information.
• Effective decision-making and critical thinking skills.
• Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy and compliance excellence.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.
