This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
• Drive profitable growth and market expansion within the designated territory through effective sales, marketing, and customer engagement strategies.
• Provide leadership to a regional sales team while directly managing strategic customer relationships and business development initiatives.
• Develop and implement regional business plans that align with sales, profitability, and market share goals.
• Set regional sales targets and performance metrics.
• Monitor market conditions, competitive activities, customer requirements, and industry trends.
• Lead, coach, mentor, and develop the regional sales team.
• Conduct sales reviews, field coaching sessions, and performance evaluations.
• Cultivate and expand strategic accounts and relationships with growers, distributors, retailers, consultants, researchers, and industry stakeholders.
• Engage in industry meetings, trade shows, educational events, field demonstrations, and conferences.
• Prepare and oversee the regional sales budget, revenue forecasts, operating expenses, and growth initiatives.
• Monitor performance and provide monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasts.
• Assist with credit management and collection efforts.
• Collaborate with Customer Care, Supply Chain, and Operations to manage regional inventory levels.
• Maintain precise sales records, customer information, and pipeline activities in CRM systems.
• Work with national marketing on regional marketing programs and promotional activities.
• Support product launches, field trials, demonstrations, and educational initiatives.
• Ensure adherence to company policies, regulations, industry standards, and ethical practices.
• Travel approximately 25% overnight throughout the assigned region.
• Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Plant Science, Soil Science, Agricultural Business, or a related field.
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience leading remote sales teams within the agricultural sector.
• Proven track record in sales leadership, market development, and customer relationship management.
• Established experience in developing business opportunities and driving revenue growth.
• Strong technical knowledge of crop production systems and agricultural inputs.
• Advanced understanding of agricultural production systems, crop management practices, soil health, plant nutrition, biological crop protection, biostimulants, and adjuvant technologies.
• Familiarity with sales management principles, market development strategies, territory management, and customer relationship management.
• Understanding of agricultural distribution channels, industry stakeholders, and market dynamics.
• Knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, inventory management, and business performance metrics.
• Proficient in CRM platforms and Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Teams, SharePoint, and Outlook.
• Possess leadership, coaching, employee development, strategic planning, business development, consultative selling, negotiation, and account management skills.
• Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities with a capacity to interpret market and sales data.
• Skills in financial planning, forecasting, and budget management.
• Proficiency with CRM systems, sales reporting tools, and digital communication platforms.
• Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams and remote employees.
• Willingness to travel extensively throughout the assigned territory, including overnight travel.
• Capability to lift and move materials and product samples weighing up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to conduct field visits in diverse agricultural and outdoor environments.
• Preferred: advanced degree; experience with biological products, biostimulants, crop nutrition, crop protection, adjuvants, related technologies, CRM systems, and business intelligence tools.
