This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +2 more states.
• Drive regional expansion through the acquisition, development, and retention of dealers.
• Provide a personalized, field-based partnership experience.
• Take ownership of revenue, margin, and market share goals.
• Lead and mentor Business Development Managers in the field.
• Oversee the daily operations of designated Business Development Managers.
• Formulate and execute strategies to meet Mercury's growth objectives.
• Implement plans in collaboration with Business Development Managers and dealer partners.
• Maintain an active presence in the field with dealers and OEM partners.
• Supervise the onboarding and hands-on training process for Business Development Managers.
• Evaluate the performance of Business Development Managers and develop coaching and growth plans.
• Collaborate with the Mercury OEM team on dealer acquisition and growth initiatives.
• Work with sales leadership to assess market needs and trends.
• Report to leadership on competitive products, programs, and market dynamics.
• Resolve sales disputes between Mercury, dealers, and OEMs.
• Build and sustain relationships with key dealers through in-person engagement and follow-ups.
• Establish communication channels with local OEM boat representatives.
• Identify and address regional issues, escalating unresolved matters to upper management.
• Collaborate with category management on existing products and new product launches.
• Represent Mercury at national and regional events, promoting products and generating sales leads.
• Recruit, develop, and retain high-caliber talent.
• Create a high-performing field sales team.
• Act as a cross-functional liaison among sales, service, and marketing departments.
• Support program execution and address customer concerns throughout the dealer network.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Proven history of outstanding sales performance with a demonstrated ability to identify business opportunities.
• 5-10 years of experience with a dealer organization or similar environment.
• Documented success within the marine or power sports sectors.
• Familiarity with marine industry dealers or related organizations.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational capabilities.
• Ability to comprehend market dynamics and translate insights into a regional demand plan that drives production.
• High level of business acumen.
• Capability to interact with diverse personalities while remaining diplomatic, professional, and adaptable.
• Competence in coaching and inspiring field personnel.
• Ability to persuade customers while prioritizing their satisfaction.
• Solid understanding of Mercury and related products.
• Prior experience in the marine industry.
• Basic marine technical and product knowledge.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.
• Strong presentation skills.
• Willingness to take initiative and fulfill responsibilities under all circumstances.
• Knowledge of legal aspects related to sales and advertising.
• Effective leadership and interpersonal abilities.
• Familiarity with policy administration.
• Ability to understand, develop, and manage a budget.
• Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Applications and adaptability to job-specific programs and processes.
• Must be currently authorized to work in the United States.
• Must reside within the designated dealer territory, including the Carolinas and Florida.
• Willingness to travel up to 60% of the time.
