Regional Aviation Manager – North Central

📋 Description

• Assist in the organization, leadership, and management of regional aviation operations and staff.

• Supervise regional aviation safety protocols and training programs.

• Ensure adherence to regulations, operational specifications, and the General Operations Manual in regional operations.

• Engage as a member of Air Methods’ management team.

• Analyze and report FRx budget versus actual variances to the Director of Operations.

• Oversee aviation components of base startup, closure, and relocation activities.

• Distribute and update the Operations Manual and Operations Specifications as necessary.

• Manage aircraft integration, availability, and support for trained pilots.

• Assign aviation field logistical support tasks to the Area Manager.

• Attend or designate representatives for fleet status teleconferences and KPI Dashboard discussions.

• Collaborate with the Pilot Training team to coordinate pilot training initiatives.

• Address safety concerns in coordination with the Regional Safety Director and Area Manager.

• Support aviation mishap investigations and conduct root cause analyses.

• Provide necessary flight personnel reports to the Regional Aviation Director.

• Monitor aviation personnel conduct and performance for adherence to policies.

• Ensure pilots utilize the 411 system effectively.

• Rectify audit deficiencies and compliance challenges.

• Organize training for medical crewmembers and communication specialists; oversee CTS compliance and deliver Air Medical Resource Management training.

• Ensure in-service training and maintain accurate training records prior to returning backup aircraft to operation.

• Conduct or facilitate ferry and MOC flights.

• Monitor and address AIDMOR submissions.

• Collaborate with Regional Maintenance leadership to resolve mechanical irregularities.

• Execute initial GPS updates for assigned aircraft.

• Serve as on-site representative during accidents and incidents.

• Educate pilots on SMS and ASAP programs.

• Be available 24/7 and maintain a flexible work schedule.

• Directly supervise employees within the Aviation department, including hiring, training, assigning tasks, evaluating performance, and resolving issues.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year institution and eight to ten years of relevant experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience in aviation and air medical transports.

• A minimum of 2,500 flight hours is required.

• At least two (2) years of experience in a Part 135 operation.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

• Professional demeanor along with exceptional interpersonal abilities.

• Capability to manage and oversee a diverse array of tasks.

• Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions aligned with key job functions.

• Proficiency in preparing written reports, correspondence, and presentations for senior leadership.

• Demonstrated leadership capabilities.

• Skill in fostering and sustaining positive relationships both internally and externally.

• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

• Possession of an Airline Transport Pilot Certificate (Airplane or Rotorcraft).

• Valid FAA Second Class Medical certificate.

• Subject to DOT/FAA drug and/or alcohol testing regulations.
