Regional Aviation Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Supervise and assist with aviation operations across the Northeast region.

• Ensure aircraft qualifications and operational currency are maintained.

• Support frontline operations with occasional flight duty assignments.

• Manage and oversee aviation activities and personnel within the designated region.

• Supervise safety and training while executing daily aviation tasks.

• Collaborate with field management, regional leadership, maintenance, and clinical teams.

• Guarantee that regional operations adhere to regulations, operational specifications, and the General Operations Manual.

• Contribute to the Air Methods management team.

• Analyze and report FRx budget versus actual variances to the Director of Operations.

• Oversee aircraft integration, availability, and ensure trained pilot coverage.

• Assign aviation field logistical support responsibilities to the Area Manager.

• Organize pilot training as well as training for crewmembers and communication specialists.

• Address safety concerns, assist with mishap investigations, and conduct root cause analysis.

• Monitor the performance of aviation personnel, ensuring compliance and required reporting.

• Ensure any audit deficiencies and compliance issues are resolved.

• Coordinate backup aircraft training and manage return-to-service requirements.

• Conduct or arrange for ferry and MOC flights.

• Monitor and respond to AIDMOR submissions.

• Work with regional maintenance leadership to rectify mechanical irregularities.

• Serve as the on-scene representative for accidents and incidents.

• Provide education to pilots regarding SMS and ASAP programs.

• Directly manage employees in the Aviation department, including hiring, training, task assignment, performance evaluation, discipline, and conflict resolution.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university along with eight to ten years of relevant experience and/or training; or a comparable combination of education and experience in aviation and air medical transports.

• At least 2,500 flight hours.

• A minimum of two (2) years of experience in a Part 135 operation.

• Airline Transport Pilot Certificate (Airplane or Rotorcraft).

• FAA Second Class Medical certification.

• Proficient with Microsoft Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

• Strong oral and written communication skills.

• Professional demeanor with exceptional interpersonal skills.

• Capability to manage and execute a diverse range of tasks.

• Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions pertinent to essential job functions.

• Skill in preparing written reports, correspondence, and presentations for senior leadership.

• Demonstrated leadership abilities.

• Capacity to establish and maintain positive relationships both internally and externally.

• Ability to objectively assess and evaluate operations, maintenance, fuel quality, Communication Specialist personnel, and safety issues.

• Willingness to work a flexible schedule and be available 24/7 for operational needs.

• Subject to DOT/FAA drug and alcohol testing regulations.
