Regional Agronomist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.

📋 Description

• Assist the Crop Nutrition and Tiger-Sul sales team in growing market share and developing opportunities for company products in the Pacific Northwest.

• Assess plant fertilization requirements and advantages using TKI Crop Nutrition and Tiger-Sul products tailored to regional cropping systems.

• Create and execute field testing and demonstration trials to bolster sales and marketing initiatives.

• Build collaborative relationships with university and private researchers.

• Conduct site visits to assess the quality of research.

• Work alongside sales, agronomists, and marketing professionals to craft technically sound marketing messages.

• Provide technical assistance to customers and end-users to ensure effective product application and positioning.

• Investigate competitors’ product offerings and assess potential licensing and acquisition opportunities.

• Innovate new products that align with company objectives.

• Engage external researchers to facilitate trials, confirm product performance, and translate findings into actionable recommendations.

• Stay informed on competitive activities and market trends through relationships with personnel in the fertilizer and crop protection industries.

• Enhance distributor and customer relationships through technical support, training, product education, and field-based troubleshooting.


⛳️ Requirements

• A master's degree in crop science, soil science, or agronomy is preferred, or a bachelor's degree coupled with 1-3 years of relevant experience.

• Hold a Certified Crop Advisor (CCA) license or be willing to obtain one within one year.

• Must be fluent in English, with the capability to read, write, and present technical information effectively in both small and large group settings.

• Familiarity with specialty fertilizer products, including nitrogen stabilizers.

• Understanding of the 4R Nutrient Stewardship Program, precision agriculture, and emerging fertilizer technologies.

• Experience in independently conducting agronomic research.

• Strong knowledge of statistical analysis and experimental design.

• Awareness of competitors’ products and services in the specialty fertilizer market, along with familiarity with crop protection products.

• Understanding of customer segments and their needs, including crop production and input practices, suppliers, wholesalers, retailers, and growers.

• Experience in product evaluation, marketing, and product launches.

• Proven experience in developing training modules focused on product technical data, selling messages, and tools for the sales team.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office products (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.).

• Willingness to travel frequently within the designated region, including overnight stays (up to 50% of the time).

• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

• Capable of walking, standing, bending, and stooping for extended periods.

• Ability to lift, carry, and handle materials or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.

• Comfortable with long-distance driving and operating standard motor vehicles, including farm vehicles, on rural and unpaved roads.

• Visual acuity to assess crop conditions, read data instruments, and review printed or digital materials.

• Manual dexterity for data collection, note-taking, sample handling, and operating electronic equipment.

• Ability to sit for extended periods for administrative tasks, data analysis, or computer work.

• Willingness to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
