This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Act as a representative for Alexion in educating customers about hypophosphatasia (HPP) and identifying affected patients.
• Enhance the visibility of Alexion's disease-awareness initiatives and improve customer satisfaction within the designated territory.
• Execute sales, marketing, diagnostic, disease, and branded programs.
• Maintain strong communication and relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
• Meet or surpass sales targets in the assigned region.
• Acquire and uphold comprehensive knowledge of the product, market, and customer base.
• Formulate and implement account-specific business plans that align with corporate strategy.
• Manage the territory effectively and analyze market dynamics to achieve sales objectives.
• Cultivate and sustain robust clinical, technical, and scientific knowledge.
• Identify and qualify leads while profiling new accounts.
• Educate clients on diagnostic methods, differential diagnosis, and suitable patient testing populations.
• Utilize marketing tools and resources, including PowerPoint presentations.
• Spearhead the implementation of a patient-centric partnership model with healthcare professionals, staff, clinics, and hospitals.
• Deliver product expertise and customer service to all accounts.
• Conduct persuasive sales calls that result in sales of Alexion products.
• Collaborate with TLLs, SALs, MSLs, FRM, Market Access, Diagnostics, and other enterprise partners.
• Engage proactively with Alexion management to enhance product and market initiatives.
• Manage time, priorities, CRM tools, resources, and workload effectively.
• Provide accurate and timely sales activity reports.
• Perform duties in accordance with Alexion’s Code of Ethics, Business Conduct, policies, and procedures.
• Bachelor’s degree in life sciences and/or business/marketing.
• Proven and documented track record of consistent top-tier sales performance, with a Top 20% standing.
• At least 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry or equivalent fields such as biotech or medical devices.
• Capability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented setting.
• Ability to establish professional relationships with healthcare providers in community and academic centers.
• Demonstrated success in strategic territory management.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills along with excellent organizational abilities.
• Possession of a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
• Willingness to travel 50–60% within the assigned territory, including frequent overnight and some weekend travel.
• Capability to work in both field and clinical environments.
• Proficiency in using computers and communicating through phone, video, and electronic messaging.
• Ability to engage in complex analysis and problem-solving dialogues.
• An advanced or master’s degree is preferred.
• Prior experience in biopharma is preferred.
• Recognition through top-tier awards, such as the President’s Club Award, is preferred.
• Preferred sales experience in Endocrinology, Medical Genetics, or with physicians treating bone disorders.
• Experience with Enzyme Replacement Therapy products is preferred.
• Familiarity with orphan, ultra-orphan, or rare diseases is preferred.
• Experience in nephrology, orthopedic surgery, and rheumatology specialties is preferred.
• Experience with self-injected products is preferred.
• Experience with institutional or academic center accounts is preferred.
